Out of all the stops we made this was our favorite. Walked around and took lots of pics, not safe to enter the buildings but very cool walking around a historical site!!

It's a great place to experience the paranormal. What's not great is the strange people who drive by the place back and forth like you're doing something wrong. We were just taking pictures from off the property. It's definitely a spirited location and I hope the new owner can make it a great place for the vets as they hoped to.

Is it still available to see? Can you walk on the property or is it only a drive by seeing?

Yes, booking a tour is the only way to go in currently. I wouldn't risk going in without permission, the property is watched over by neighbors and the caretakers pretty much 24/7. Also, without guidance, the state of decay in there makes wandering alone a dangerous prospect. Wait for a tour date to pop up though, definitely worth it! Haunted Nights LLC is who runs the tours and acts as the caretakers. They advertise pretty well on Facebook about their events at the Homestead, and elsewhere.

Is there security here? Or is it safe to go into and explore?? Or is there someone I can ask for permission to go there?

No security but they do have people watching the place and will call the police if they see you on the property. You can not just go there unless you just stay on the road in front of the place. If you are looking to tour haunted locations, that's what I do. Haunted in New York on Facebook. We investigate different places all over NYS. Check my page out. I believe there are some other person's who occasionally offer tours there at times. I definitely do not recommend going there without proper permission or a designated tour group.

Can you still have parties at night there? I believe there's one there tonight on Christmas Eve. Just curious.

According to the Saratogian, the property was sold by Shimon and Dervinowitz LLC to Patrick Brereton for $60,000. https://www.saratogian.com/news/saratoga-county-property-transactions-published-january/article_a26e7b0f-a881-5ed1-a477-98cecb87d3c8.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saratoga_County_Homestead Personally, I want to document the place. Would love to bring my camera equipment out there and spend a night.
