The service was excellent. I had the trio sampler plate...the deep fried cheese was perfect...the shrimp cocktail was okay except the cocktail sauce was watery and no flavor and the crab cake was not hot. My husband had the pork dinner...large portion, tender which is great...the food seemed reheated and not hot the mushroom gravy was delightful. My roasted beet salad was perfect.

I didn't lodge here this review is for the restaurant. Quaint, cozy dining experience in a historic atmosphere. Inn/restaurant embraces the history of Sharon Springs. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful decor. Ordered a burger, was the best burger I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, juicy, large, and tasty. Thanks guys, keep up the great work.

I stayed with my parents and our dog for one night at the American Hotel. The room was fabulous, cozy and comfortable, although the bathtub drain plug did not work properly thus requiring a cup to keep the water in for a bath. The food was mostly delicious, although my father was not so impressed with the crabcakes, everything else was amazing. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs. If you need a pet friendly hotel in the area, this is your place. I would love to come back.

First time to the area and restaurant. The menu had a list of delicious sounding meals, and wanted to try them all. One of the advantages of being one of the first customers, the coffee was fresh and not bitter. Servers were friendly and loved our waiter. Would definitely come back!
