Beautiful trail that is well maintained. The fire tower was just restored.

Don't follow GPS out of old forge. Start from Inlet. Also when you get on the dirt road GPS will try and have you turn left onto private property. Keep going a few more miles and the trail head is on the left

We were up in the ADK, read the reviews on All Trails and decided this was one we could NOT miss. The last 10 miles on the unpaved were dusty and bumpy, the climb was steep, but the million dollar panoramic views made it all worth while.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with this resource; mostly because it's rare to see these kinds of collaborative efforts take shape in today's world. It's a relatively short, easy hike to the tower... approximately a 2 mile round trip. I'm amazed but pleased that the tower is open for the public to climb. The views from the top of the tower are definitely worth it. The trail needs a little work and the parking lot is too small to accommodate more than about 3 vehicles but this is a fun place to visit!
