I saw Joe Hawks wearing army pants and flip flops so I got a pair of army pants and flip flops. Him and his sons also do amazing tattoos and are very friendly and caring. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a quality tattoo. But watch out for Cody, he doesn’t know the different between a tiger and lynx.

This is just a great shop. Joe has been doing this for a while now in Tampa and I can’t recommend it enough. Clean, super friendly, professional, and killer artists. Anyone you get will do you right, for sure. I recently got tattooed by Mike A, who I believe is Joe’s son, and he absolutely smashed it. I had been working up the nerve to get my first tattoo for months, so I did some research. I picked Hawks because they had amazing reviews and their portfolios were beautiful. They did not disappoint. When I made an impromptu visit to the shop today, I was lucky enough to have Joe Hawks himself apply my first tattoo! He was professional, courteous, and patient as he showed me how the procedure would work. Joe took as much time as I needed to get the stencil and its placement on my body just right (after all, this is a permanent tattoo). I got a minimalist tattoo of two straight lines. Let me tell you, Joe can draw straight lines better than a ruler. My tattoo turned out exactly the way I wanted it, with perfect placement, proportions, and line weight. The vibe in the shop was casual and fun while still being a professional tattoo studio. I've never been tattooed before today, but if I ever decide to get another one then I'm definitely booking an appointment with Joe Hawks. This guy is a miracle worker. Five out of five stars!

Hawks Electric is a top-shelf joint. I have been a customer for three years and am always delighted to go back. The shop itself is clean and atmospheric with its high ceiling and endless walls of artwork. Headed by Joe--who is knowledgeable, dedicated to his craft, and just plain hilarious--the staff are a friendly and charming bunch. Cody, Mike and Andrew each have unique styles and are professional in their approach to clients' ideas. I always recommend Hawks to folks looking to get some ink done. Definitely check these guys out if you want a quality piece wrapped up in a fun experience (:
