We were passing through town and we were looking for something to eat other than fast food when we came across this place. It was a nice place to sit down have a good meal and relax a little bit. The place was clean, service was quick, I know overall I think it was a great place. Now oddly enough the reason why I give it four out of five, it's due to the fact that they only have a single restroom 🚻 for the men and women (one each). Not a big deal but due to the size of the place, there was an awful lot of people having to hang around at the front waiting on one of these to become available. Just kind of found that odd for the size of the place.

Delicious food in a unique setting. Umi Grill occupies what was once an old bank complete with a bank vault. That's where I ate. My recommended dish: The Bamboo roll. Delicious combination of lime and Wasabi in the sauce which covers it.

The quality of the seared tuna was phenomenal and the miso soup was very tasty. The service was good and helpful. There were a number of tables on a weeknight. I overall felt that the restaurant was more average, but may be the best in Terra Haute, Indiana. My hot green tea was bitter in the way that it had maybe been oversteeped or made earlier kept warm. The dressing on the seared tuna was very salty with slightly metallic tasting shrimp and underripe mango and avocado. It is a pricier restaurant but portions are generous.

Food is always good, and the staff is super nice! It's expensive but you get a good portion! I usually get the Nabeyaki Udon, while my Fiance got the shrimp and curry with rice, all of which was super good! And since it was my birthday they did give us a complimentary desert which I got to pick the flavor for the ice cream (I chose red bean and it was DELICIOUS)

Yes! But they usually only have a small amount and they are not sold by themselves, only on Unari
You will probably have to take the card into the restaurant. They can scan the amount.
Per pound of green beans: 1 tablespoon olive oil 2-4 cloves garlic crushed or minced 1/2-3/4 cup sake 1/4-1/2 cup mirin 1/4 soy sauce 1 tablespoon of butter 1 tsp dashi granules 1 tsp salt (or to taste) We Flash fry or blanche our beans first to soften them while preparing a sauce in a 10 inch pan with the above ingredients over med-hi heat. Oil and garlic first. Once garlic starts to become fragrant then you can add the rest of the ingredients in order listed. Add beans once sauce starts to simmer and simmer until desired softness. We follow a 3:2:1 ratio of sake, mirin, and soy sauce which are the key ingredients, along with the garlic, to the flavor of our green beans. Hope this helps!
