Great park in the city! Only negative: no path markers so it's easy to get turned around.

I go there every spring to see all the fantastic birds coming through on spring migration. Trail are firm and level and there are enough to make it a nice place to walk, hike or bird watch in my case.

Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the greater city is this little slice of old growth forest. Walking along the well maintained and clearly marked paths gives you the sensation of walking at the feet of giants. Then there's the old water towers, which hold their own brilliant display of human creativity in a ever revolving and evolving canvas of local art.

best little hidden natural treasure in the city. old growth oak trees and glacial kettles. many people who have lived in the area their whole life dont know about it. watch out for ground bees! they arent generally aggressive, but will sting without being provoked in the spring if you are too close to their nest. be aware if you head generally north on the trails you will eventually come to the water towers completely painted by local artists. they are a very interesting juxtaposition to the natural beauty. the compositions are always changing too. pick up any trash that you see, as it’s not managed by the county parks dept. and if you walk your dogs here, keep them on a leash and clean up after them!
