Harvard Film Archive is an essential part of the Harvard Art Museums as it conserves and exhibits films as works of art. HFA is one of the few places in the world that does this consistently. The filmmakers themselves are often part of the show, and they are from all over the world.

Excellent place to see films you would never see otherwise
Paul
The best place to see art-house cinema in the Boston area.

Hi Lia, We are not a circulating library and most of our collection is on 35mm and 16mm film. If you have a research project and need us to set up a screening of a particular film for you, see these instructions: https://harvardfilmarchive.org/collections/research-policies . This would take place here at the HFA. All of our holdings are listed in HOLLIS, Harvard's online library catalog. Best, HFA
Thanks for your interest in the HFA! We don't generally have screenings Tuesday through Thursday, and right now, the theater is dark until August 31. Please check back then!
