Beautiful spot, I've heard for years that it's really nice but it definitely exceeded my expectations. Very dramatic terrain, especially for Massachusetts. Be prepared to hike and explore to get the most out of this place.

Beautiful Riverwalk, several places to go down and hang out by the river which has huge boulders in it and interesting rock formations on the other side .

Great example of what ice age created, as it ground through the earth. Amazing, breathtaking views, especially during the spring thaw, you can see how fast and ferociously the river runs. Please mind younger children, as the fence that runs along the gorge will hardly prevent an accidental fall, which is always 99% fatal. There are two picnic tables, and Porta like bathroom. Scenic drive, especially if you choose route 112 from the start. Nature's power in all its' glory.

This is a very special place! The gorge itself is beautiful, tumbled rocks with potholes, worn into the rocks over time. Basalt columns rise out of the water. Lots of small eco-systems along the trail. The trail, I would say, is intermediate with various elevations. We stopped for deer crossing one afternoon at the entrance road. A definite state treasure!

Questions & Answers

Is that considered the Middle branch of the Westfield River? I believe it is Catch and Release.

And yes it is catch and release. Should be stocked within the next month as well.
