Liked hiking here over Memorial Day weekend. Pretty quiet, and well maintained trails. Not the most well-marked, although might be my fault cos I didn't start with the map. Still, had fun, but definitely going back to do it properly and see the peak and pond.

Believe me ! This place is awesome!!! Definitely will back again !!! It’s very good for hiking . But the peak is a little bit disappointed not too high and not very good view. But the ponds are soooooo beautiful!!!

Nice walk but be aware of your footing since most of the trail (red and yellow ones anyway) have lots of rocks and roots to contend with. Colors weren't as bright as we had hoped , they need to plant more maples!

Great hike for families. Multiple trails and crosscountry bike trails too. There's an old dam and iron mill site. On a clear day, you can see the Boston skyline in the distance.

Questions & Answers

Which trail gets you to the waterfall?

There is no no natural waterfall. The ironmill has something like a waterfall. From the Caryl parking lot take the Caryl Loop or red trail. If coming from the Trustees parking lot take the blue trail. Look for signs for the mill or Mill pond.

I am bringing my cub scout pack to the woodlands for a hike. Do you know if we are able to make a small fire anywhere in the woodlands for s'mores?

I don't think they will let you do that there. Close by is Rocky woods which is good for a hike and to see beaver trees. Also they have a place for fires. It's on the Dover, midfield, Westwood line

Is this area infested with ticks. Is it okay to hike & not get Lymes disease this week?

I don't think you can avoid ticks here or any other woods. Bug spray and long pants & shirt will help.
