Purchased an extension cord , tried to return with receipt, refused because I did not have the debit card used for the purchase. I also learned that no store credit or cash would be refunded, unless paid for with cash . My husband made the purchase and works away from home, I was trying to return the item before the time frame to make a return expires. So if you don't have the original method of payment and trying to return an item , be prepared to be stuck with it, or donate it to charity. What if the debit card was lost , or, stolen? Life happens! . Glad I learned this before we purchased the retractable screen doors for our new home. Don't need any more senseless haggling ! Thank goodness there's a Tractor -Supply store around the corner from Ace . It'll be worth it to travel the additional 1mile to know we can make a return without a hassle.

Ace is an acceptable local hardware store, with a good variety of related items that are normally stocked for different seasons, and for day-to-day requirements: tools, chemicals. etc. However, it's really not that friendly of a place, like they advertise on TV. Management (never met one at any ACE stores...ever) needs to remind their staff that a little kindness goes a long way. People come to ACE to shop; most need some kind of help. Your staff needs to make that extra effort.
