Brookview Apartments at Elkins Park

To date, I have lived at Brookview for 3 years. In my experience, this place has been going down hill since September 2021, and I believe that was when the old property manager (Rachel) and Antonio (leasing consultant) left. I am giving this property two stars because the first two years were really great! This community had standards when I initially moved in (no trashed or personal items left in the hallways/common areas, no smoking in the building or on balconies, and maintenance kept the community clean). As of today 7.14.22, people leave their trash outside their apartments and liter the community. The building lobbies do not have locks so safety has become a major concern! The website claims that the community has gated-access, but I’m not sure what that means because this is not a gated community and there has been reports of invasions!! They no longer provide stickers for vehicles so anyone can park their car here for days free of charge without being towed. AND you pay a monthly fee for parking just for trucks to park sideways and take up 4-5 spaces. The buildings have a mold problem that’s not being addressed. The gym is the size of a closet and could accommodate maybe two people at a time. In a nutshell, this community went from semi-upscale to projects! Don’t believe the hype! You will pay thousands of dollars in rent just to be unhappy and uncomfortable in your own home.

Apartment is trash you will have to pay a bunch of money to slum lords they just do temporary patch up work when you have problems within your unit. I’ll post pictures later but please save your money and go somewhere else honestly I would rather live in a box then to live here anymore this is definitely my last year here.

GENERAL EMAIL

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The water supply is unsafe. The water comes out of my faucets as a gray color. I wouldn't even give this water to a pet. There is always foul smells coming from the pipes. The bathrooms has mold issues. I've lived in 3 different units and had the same issue in all 3 units. I spoke with another tenant who is having the same issue. The leasing office staff are never available. Maintenance does not respond to requests. This place is a joke for the price we pay. The hallways are filthy. They do not clean this community at all. The building doors do not lock, so good luck feeling safe here. I've stayed here this long so that my son can stay at his current school but I am out at the end of this year. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Don’t move here. Been having issues since before we moved in. There were beer cans is out sink at move/in, water leaks from the ceilings, there are cracks in the ceilings/walls, the flooring comes up and is not level, there isn’t new carpet on move-in, when it rains the water comes in through the windows, there’s a constant draft from the balcony door, the A/C and heating units are useless, we have to flip the breaker if our microwave and coffee maker are being used at the same time, the leasing office is close to impossible to get a hold of. Plowing is awful. The maintenance team is very nice and they try hard, however they are few of them and it’s evident that they cannot keep up with all issues.
