Horrible people refusing to adopt to our family due to trick questions involving whether we would get the cat declawed or not in the future. You turned away a great home for an animal due to your selfishness. You have no idea what is inhumane and declawing a cat is not. Business run by Biden loving Karen’s.Do not adopt from these people they are horrible. I got a kitten anyway so sad your cats are sitting with no home.Update I will tell as many people as I can about this you people are horrible.

I cannot say enough good things about HOKAFI. I had inquired about Tyson, and Kathy got back to me that same day. We went to visit him shortly after. The facility was immaculate, and the cats had lots of room and all looked so comfortable and happy. We put in our application that day and were approved in about a week. After we brought Tyson home, anytime I had a question, Kathy was just a text away. Tyson is the BEST cat -- he is so loving even with strangers, he is great with getting his nails clipped, he is a perfect gentleman at the vet -- I attribute a lot of this to the love and care he received from the HOKAFI volunteers. Many people think it's better to adopt from a kill shelter than a no-kill shelter, but when you adopt from a no-kill shelter, you open a spot for another cat in need to await their forever home at a wonderful place like HOKAFI.

i was not impressed by the stringent assessment process. More needs to be considered other than other pets not residing with you, that are not up to date on their shots during a world pandemic, when trying to adopt an adult cat for a lonely elderly person.... I am changing my two stars to one, due to the non objective response I just received. Luna laid her head down on my arm and allowed me to hold her and play with her. Mimi road on the rolling walker as my mother puttered around the cat room. We were ready to bring our dog in to meet them. So Your response is null and void. If it was not that my son's cat was not up to date, and the comment staff made that our rescued ally cat, Sasha was "brought in for something else, and 'oNLy then' vaccinated, I really think you are a dishonest bunch. May Jesus have mercy.

Many, many years ago, a former boss of mine volunteered here. Around the time I had to put my 19 year old cat down, Karen finally talked me into at least coming to meet "Bubbles." Well, I wasn't sure I wanted to take on a cat with health issues, but I did decide to adopt a little grey tiger named Christmas . . . and I adopted "Peaches," too. They weren't sure of her age - they figured she was around 6 or so, but in bad health when she came to HOKAFI, hence my hesitation. But Peaches was such a joy to have that when I had to finally put her down, I had her cremated and her ashes sit on my dresser. I haven't had to adopt any kitties since - that's a story for another time, but I wouldn't ever hesitate to adopt from here!

They do, I'd call them and leave a message, they'll get back to you
We do! Donations can be dropped off to the shelter Monday through Friday 8am to 12pm or on Saturdays 12pm to 2pm. Thanks so much! 🐾
They should be about 8-10 weeks and price varies by vet or clinic
There is usually a fee. However, these animals are well cared for and have regular veterinary care. They will be honest about any special needs. I have known them to share medical chart info with prospective adopters. Paying a fee also indicates that you have the funds to feed and care for the cat and pay for regular veterinary care. They require that an application, with references, be completed.
They only will take a cat by appointment. You may be better off checking with York SPCA.
