Great place to learn to ride.

TERRIBLE PLACE TO BE!!! Mud was very deep, sometimes you would even loose shoes. Horses are very malnourished and are not properly taken care of. The troughs in the fields are full of mold and algae, same with the stall waters and never filled. Horses are overworked and not treated fairly. Lesson horses can never be trusted because they might just fall over from exhaustion. ITS HAPPENED BEFORE and nothing has been done to aid the animal.

My horse caught a preventable illness from this barn. No quarantine structure, no grass, in wet weather every field turns into mud, and the business owner told workers to limit hay for the animals during the coldest month of the year because they were going through quite a bit of it (as horses need good forage to stay warm) and costs were going up. She attempted to raise board rate mere days after spreading a contagious illness through her barn. This place broke my heart and I hope to never board again because of my experience there. I was fleeced as a new owner and I hope no one else is taken advantage of. The “family feel” is really lovely at first, but grew toxic as my eyes opened and I started seeing the conditions behind the scenes. The property is dangerous for both horses and people, if the hill down into the pastures are wet or icy, I’ve seen people and horses alike go down hard on the frozen mud, the electric fences shocked barn workers daily despite seemingly-proper installation, I actually lost feeling in both of my hands for a month and a half after a string of particularly wet days on the farm made the fences arc down into the ground and shoot through my arms and legs. I never complained once, as I worked there for the horses and the horses alone, but after error after error, all I can tell people is to stay away. The property is not safe and several of the horses are thin and tired, my own horse lost 100 pounds on the sweet-feed the barn provides, despite being assured it was a quality feed. My other horse gained weight, too much weight, and I’m slimming her down from the sugary fat stores she had built up with a highly recommended ration balancer. I was glad to experience this place, if only to know what I will never allow for my horses again.
