Great place. And yes, if you park in the MCD lot on top of the hill one must walk down to the water and back up again. If you are elderly, mobility challenged, or have physical difficulty ...drive past the parking lot, the road crosses the creek and parking around there is how you really serve a community of people who can't do steep inclines? ....not by planting a post with a blue sign on it way up a hill, a parking place is not access to anything but a parking place for a vehicle and it's not access to place if they can't use the trails? This is very common and I'd like to point this out in all my reviews. Pickle Springs is another such location, the Grand Bluffs as well...on and on the list goes where the MCD has placed Reserved Parking in places for people with mobility limitations, places 95% of us can't access when we arrive. I really question who is being served the most. Millstream Gardens has a paved trail for access to the water there, it's one mile each way and downhill sloped. Where the kayaker people all park is only 200 yards to the water for instance?

A nice little hike along the Clifty Creek Ridge with plenty of ups and downs. About a 30-40 minute hike to the natural Bridge area. Relatively easy trail for an hour and a half round trip hike. Great place to take the dogs out. A little muddy but decent. Extremely Icy in the winter.

I would definitely recommend this trail for anyone looking to enjoy a nice casual hike that includes a little mix in scenery. I really enjoyed the layout of the path and how it weaved around and over terrain features that are prominent in this area. It was also neat that it was not a conventional trail and it followed more a natural made walking path. There were no signs stating that you had to stay on the path or such; often times we would take detours when something caught our eye or if we wanted a better view. The Natural Bridge and the trail along the creek bed were the highlight of the trail. So if you just want to check those out, take a right at the beginning. - Dogs are welcome. We saw several dogs on the trail when we were hiking it. If you bring small breeds, be prepared to carry them. - The kids loved it. Again though, be prepared to carry some of the smaller kids across the creeks or up some of the steep parts. - Not good for running, but great for a nice stroll!
