First off I am a regular Great Mex customer and have always loved it. This particular location however is awful. Service is slow, tortillas have always been dry and meat overcooked. Service is slow and the salsa is not good. I'd recommend skipping this location all together. The location located off Wilson drive is way better.

Ate a weat shimp burrito, great flavor but got the minimum salsa for ships ( not enough ), that's the reason for the 3 stars. Cashier was just ok, not impressed at all.

Food pretty good, affordable and usually great service... Went there this past Saturday and waited an extra 20 minutes for my torta. I ordered over the phone and was told that it would be 10 minutes. I was almost late to work. Torta was good tho. Just tried to go to Great Mex once again and figured Saturday was an off day for the staff. I walked in and the cashier, who saw me and mind you the place was empty at the time, decided to go wipe down patio tables instead. The two cooks in the back made eye contact and carried on with whatever they were doing. Waited a bit and no one bothered to acknowledge me. I did not feel like possibly waiting another half hour as I did on Saturday. I really want to continue to like and patronize Great Mex but meh... sorry GM. Took this visit as a sign to check out Taco Madre around the corner. Changed review to 2 stars from 5.

order huevos rancheros the eggs were perfect the rice was very good the beans were terrible they're almost cold not even the warm. the shrimp cocktail was very good except they forgot to put it on a plate to hold the cup so you had to set your crackers on the table. had ask server for plate to set cocktail glass on.

We are following the practices recommended by the CDC and our local OC Health Authority. They are posted on our front window. Diners on our spacious patio can stay 6 feet apart from those they don't live with and no indoor seating is allowed.
Selection is okay some on tap and more in bottles. Not sure they have Coronaritas.
It's a new program they just introduced not too long ago. You can sign up by putting in a cell phone number at the cash register. Every time a customer spends over a $8 in one order they will earn ONE star. When they accumulate 8 stars, the customer will receive $8 off their next order. A customer can keep track of their progress through their cell phone where they will receive text messages about the program ONLY when they sign up, receive a star, and gain a coupon for the $8 discount.
