Granted this is a nice trail but plan for an upward climb. Fortunately, the trail is shaded and appears to be a fire road so it is clean and maintained overall. I was looking for a trail that had a little more variety in the terrain - this one is pretty much straight up and back down. It's a great trail if you're up for that experience.

Amazing trails. Enjoyed the oxygen rich air and the breathtaking views. Shaded area, saved from the striking sun entirely!

Beautiful forest and some meadow to walk through. After the initial ascent, the walking is easy. The redwood stand doesn't have very many trees, but visitors can get very close to one of them, and it is less crowded than the places with more redwood trees.

2/19/22. Arrived at 8:10AM and the parking lot already had several cars in it. Small lot and located on a smaller meandering road with no extra parking so beware. Entrance sneaks up on you a little. Hiked the Alma Trail and Redwood Springs Trail Loop. 5.3 miles according to Alltrails and about 3 hours. Beautiful mostly shady trail with some random inclines (specially the beginning) but nothing overwhelming. Bring a water bottle. No benches, good signage. Deers were out, flowers were waking up, and little waterbeds were "CA flowing". Redwoods breathtaking as usual. Passed a couple people starting out but coming back there were droves. As expected as it was Saturday. We really liked this little park though! Best time is early or weekday.

Questions & Answers

How can we stop people from trampling into the sweet peas flower beds and killing the plants? There are many dead patches now compared with a couple of weeks ago.
