So we have never been here before so I was a little tricky with the directions. The entrance to the campground is literally the entrance to Snow Summit. We thought it was a little odd but continued on and found out that it was very secluded. This campground does not have a shower but it has very clean bathrooms. The camp host Sean was super nice. He was always cleaning up around the campgrounds and making sure the bathroom was fully stocked. We had made a camp shower so that way we can rinse off at the end of the day. One downfall from this campsite is most of the campgrounds sites are sitting the lower hill or above the hill. I definitely love all the trees that was surrounding this campground. It made for some amazing pictures. We had a four-year-old toddler with us and he loved the hills because he can roll down his Tonka truck. Sean Sells fire wood if you forget it and it's much cheaper than any of the local stores so if you forget to grab some don't worry! If you were camping with little kids and get bored, you can definitely walk or take a little bike ride to snow summit and there's a couple activities there. There are shops there and even at Starbucks! We were campsite 29. We were directly across from the bathrooms. One thing I'm always afraid when I'm close to the bathroom is but foot traffic. But there was none that disturbed us.

Great park with lots of trees, none of the camp sites are level so you're going to sleep at an angle and they are just about on top of each other. 2 stars for a good spot in town, and it's quiet during the week. Nothing special

It is a beautiful campground. I loved ❤️ it. One of my local favorites. My only complaint is the sites are too close together. Luckily my neighbors were respectful and weren't noisy... but I can see how this could be a problem for others. The staff was super helpful.

I stayed at site 6. Had 4 tents in site. I recommend sites 8,9 & 19. Pineknot was everything we had hoped it would be. Close to the city. Yet, deep in the woods feeling.Bathrooms have flushing toilets & real sinks. The host Seann ! Guy does it all. Fix things in minutes, bathrooms clean, no trash any where or bins over full, provides wood and will deliver to site and maintains quite after 10pm. We will be back !

Enter the NPS senior pass number where it asks for a card code while making your reservation online and it will give the 50% discount when paying for your stay. We just went 6-30-19. If paying in person at campground, put your code on envelope and pay 50% of the fee.
Hai, a fire pit and table at each site. Also a large food box (aka bear box). No showers. Few restrooms. Spotty AT&T reception. Flushing toilets. BIG BEAUTIFUL TREES.
No showers, just flush toilets
I thought the same thing
Yes, 6' lead but just have them under control and it'll be fine.
Buy locally, to stop the spread of insects.
no showers available in the campground
No showers, but clean, functioning bathrooms with running water.
There is no overflow parking inside the campground. But there is an available lot outside the campground. Closer to the city
I'm not sure. Sorry
They do as long as their is a site open. I stopped in here last minute and was in a site within 10 minutes. They tell you if they have anything available and then tell you to go pick an open spot. Then the host will come around and collect the fee and has firewood available if you need it.
This campground is in the back of a large resort and they allow you to park there. Its maybe .1 miles from the entrance.
No showers at this camp but you can bring your own. There are lots of cold water faucets throughout camp that you can use to fill a hanging sun shower but not a lot of sunny spots in the trees. Serrano Campground has showers. Bring lots of wipes and dont be scared to do a cold rinse if you have to. I washed my face and hair in the designated faucet area. It was actually refreshing.
It's likely to be booked up on weekends, I recommend making a reservation on recreation.gov
Yes they do. We had one visit our site at night time during our trip in July.
We were late leaving at 130, instead of noon. And the host did not charge us.
No. They do have flushing toilets.
ONLY the campground host has hookups. The masses are left to their misery.
We went right before fathers day and booked our site through recreation.gov
No, you should not. There is a camp host to get firewood from.
3-minute drive or about a 20-25 min walk.
They're all larger than a 20 gallon cooler, not sure about actual dimensions. Hope that helps give you an idea at least!
I ordered my lifetime pass online 2 years ago h4 rates raised. I paid $20 it's now $80 seniors
Any BLM Park entrance, National Park office, online should have it. Senior card is 62 and over, lifetime price is $80 good for free park entrance fees and discounted camping.
Heard that Serrano Campground on other side of Lake has pay showers. Not sure of cost, etc.
Pine Knot is my personal favorite. Clean and well maintained, it is secluded from the downtown area but also near enough that it is only a few minute drive away. If you need showers, you may want to look elsewhere. My wife and I have stayed several times and plan on returning often.
Unfortunately not. Pineknot is a classic campground for tent camping. Each site can only accommodate one or two standard vehicles.
Correct what the people above said. If you have a second car it's an additional $10
Good fishing and awesome hiking trails in summer.
It's maybe 10 minutes from the lake.
There is no power available. Need to bring batteries and/or solar. Or charge elsewhere.
Yes Big Bear has a lake with plenty of boat rentals...I reccomend space #41...my favorite...great camp hosts
At Serrano campground. Costs $3. Located about 5 miles away.
Swimming is permitted within 50 feet of the shoreline. Water levels at this time low so shoreline is way out in the most popular areas. Water temperature is currently 68*. Pine knot campground is not close to the lake but you can go to any public access area of the lake to enjoy it.
No showers at the campground from what I remember.
No. You need to supply your own tent or camper/trailer.
Yes, you can reserve a site through the recreation.gov. website. They have pictures and descriptions of each campsite.
Go to recreation.gov for latest pricing.
