Practitioners at this center have jobs and families. Buddhist teachings are given to help people navigate modern life. The meditations are vajrayana- different from Zen. Go to find out :)

Thank you for offering a great space for learning about Buddhism and practicing its methods. It's truly difficult to come by some beyond-personal and clear teachings these days, let alone the meditation techniques that work. Thank you for being so welcoming, I'll see you again soon!

This Karma Kagyu center is wonderful! The casual non-exotic and relaxed feeling in the center and sangha is very nice. The weekly programs are not too long, the guru yoga meditations are a true gift to the mind, and the periodic special programs help incorporate Buddhism's highest teachings in daily life.

Drive North LIncoln street, turn left into Canyon Crest Road and drive towards the Meadows until you see a sign with golden Buddha statue. Turn left into a steep private driveway. The parking is at the top of the hill next to the center. DO NOT TURN RIGHT INTO CANYON RIDGE DRIVE (IT'S A PRIVATE ROAD).

What tradition is primarily followed at this temple? Are Dharma talks also held?

We are a network of Buddhist meditation groups and centers within the Karma Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Our centers were founded by Lama Ole Nydahl according to the wishes of the great master H.H. 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. People come to our centers to learn about Buddhism, develop their meditation practice, and grow among friends. To learn more about our teachers, practices, and origins, please visit the worldwide website at diamondway-buddhism.org

Is the meditation donation based or fee based?

In all Diamond Way Buddist Centers meditation is donation based. Actually, just come and meditate with us, don't worry about donations for now :)
