Parking enforcement sucks they make a lot of mistakes, I got charged with 2 tickets that I didn't even know about and they both came up months later asking me to pay double the amount. The system is retarded. Parking enforcement should stop altogether cuz they're doing a terrible job.

Citation# 934121510 Officer: Montgomery City: Santa Monica Date: 11/28/21 Time: 3:27PM. This low review is for the entire system that they have in place. No, not because I received a violation, but the concept of the situation. I service the city. How? By helping the elderly, specifically moving large items for them. Because their bodies does not allow so anymore. This is natural. However, I was helping a nice elderly lady take her mattress out of her room and afterwards, I needed to bring in her new mattress. The new mattress was in my service truck. Which was being fined by the parking attendant. The nice elderly lady comes out to explain the situation and asks for the enforcer to not issue the citation because it is within all legitimacy. Instead, Montgomery became rude and nasty towards all of us. Even towards the nice elder lady. And Montgomery raises her voice "You guys are like Uber!". And walks off. Citation is issued. I was not mad at the ticket, but mad at how they treat regular people. So I figured fine. In order to contest and request for a hearing, I need to pay the fine first. No problem. I set everything in motion and prepare for my hearing. I was advised to check back occasionally, which I did. I still did not receive a date and time for my actual hearing. I called the department to check on the status of my hearing.. they tell me my hearing was already passed. but.... I never received a date/time for my hearing. I explained this. But, the phone line lady explains it is closed. Which is fine. Because technically I already paid for the violation. But the point of the hearing was to have my money returned. And have everyone hear out what exactly happened so I may explain why the violation is unjustified. But no, instead I am being told it is closed. Basically, I am being told that the city decided to rob me and never notify me of my actual hearing date and time. My personal recommendation to everyone: Leave California. This state is no longer for the people and it shows.

I wish I could give them a negative star! There are a bunch of incompetent people working there. Double check their work because they will write the wrong license plate on your permit and then give you a ticket for it! You still have to pay for their mistake!

Cover up your vin number, contest all tickets within 30 days by written request ( sign was faded, sticker was on the sign, tree brach was covering etc..) 50% success rate. Make sure you don't have more than 4 past due tickets. Go to the office to check with your license plate number. 5th ticket past due you get the boot, then you have to pay ALL past due tickets plus 150.00 boot fee. You can technically take the tire off, ditch it, put the spare on, SELL IT. Parking tickets are only attached to you AND the vehicle, if you sell it that person is NOT responsible. Car goes away, tickets go away. The only recourse they have inventually is intercepting your state tax refund. Not guaranteed though. Sell the car to family member, sign the title liability release attached to the title, and sign the parking enforcement ownership release form so they know longer think your the owner. If your moving out of state and never plan on having the car here again, don't pay just leave. Police can only impound your vehicle when registration is 6 months past due, up until then its 20 dollar fix it tickets. Don't pay, get the hell out of here to an area where parking enforcement doesn't exist and can feel like you actually live in America. Put some eminems over your vin so it melts and doesnt look like you covered, they will walk away most of the time. Think outside the box don't let them win

Questions & Answers

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) office should be able to provide an authorized inspection for the proper placement of the vehicle plate. If the infraction has been satisfactorily corrected, the officer will provide authorization to confirm that the correction has been made and that the inspection has been completed.

There's a paid parking garage underneath the building or metered street parking right out front

You can go there and tell them you lost the ticket. Then you can pay it there.

If someone is on disability and receives only 900 dollars a month can I get a break on my ticket? Currently I barely have enough to eat and pay rent. Thank you

Im not too sure but you can go ask them . Just make sure you put money in the meters once you park. I have seen the parking enforcement give a ticket because they forgot to put coins in the machine, while the person is inside paying a ticket.
