If I could rate this place negative 5 stars, I would. These are the absolute worst apartments I have ever lived in. Everything is so cheaply made and nothing but bugs here. The noise levels are horrible. They really didn't think it through with hearing everything everyone does. Not to mention the people here are very ignorant and rude. I don't know what they were thinking when they put this place together. This place needs serious help. Never come here.

I have been living in the Palm Gate Apartments going on 18 years now. Just like anywhere else this place isn’t perfect, but I'm happy with it. If anyone’s thinking of moving here these are the three things I like most. Great location- This is probably the big reason I haven’t moved out, Its 11 miles from Long Beach one way, or 11 miles to Downtown LA. I can also get out of bed and run to South Gate Park and back home and it’s an easy 5k. I also love riding my bicycle, and the LA riverbed is also only minutes away. Management – I’ve seen many apt managers come and go a few of them were horrible. Thankfully last year we got a new young apartment manager, and I’ve seen a lot of positive changes thanks to him and his team. All new plumbing was done recently, and the whole place just looks cleaner. You can really tell he cares about the residents and it's very refreshing since I never got that feeling from other managers. No Problems- In 18 years I have never had my car broken into or any problems with neighbors and have always felt safe. More than once I left to work and forgot to shut my door, and nothing happened. The few times there have been packages left at my door no one stole them. I also like knowing there are friendly security guys who walk around at night. As for all the negative comments, all I can say is I have a few neighbors who have lived here longer than I have. If it was as bad as people say you wouldn't have people living here more than a couple of decades.

Just can't recommend this place enough. If you like to have your cars dented in by kids (who's parents don't care about their whereabouts) then this is the place for you. We had two cars, fairly new - by the time we left Palm Gate, we had dents and scratches up and down the place. The kids here will run around with freewill - throwing and kicking balls, not caring if they hit people's cars. Both my bikes had locks on them and they were both stolen. When I asked management to let me see the footage of who damaged my cars or stole my bikes, they refused saying that they've already reviewed it and saw nothing. That is effin impossible! Not to mention this place is crawling with roaches and neighbors smoking pot and doing drugs all the time. Also, people will take your parking and they will do absolutely nothing about it. I had to call security once because someone took my spot. We knew who it was and we knocked on their door to no avail. Security finally showed up and wrote them a super fake ticket but as soon as security saw the driver, they shook hands and hugged like a couple of queers and he tossed the ticket away as if it was okay that they parked in our spot while we had a ton of groceries to carry still. Management can be rude at times and they will lie to you forever to keep your deposit. We left our apartment CLEAN and they still took more than half our deposit to "fix" up the apartment which was complete bogus. Oh yeah, was also told before we moved in that they would replace the carpet.. that never happened and thats why they took a huge chunk of our deposit even though we had it professionally cleaned before we moved out. Save your money and stay away from here. Bunch of ghetto ass people who will bring in shopping carts and chain them to the stairs for safe keeping.. ridiculous!

I am a king of person normally do not complain, I just no go back and not make noted; but in this case I stop and spent my time for help other for not choose this condominium for live, Palm Gates in South Gates California . I had lived 7 months and during this time I have seen three different manager came. There are not control; the employees make everything they want and as they wish. All employees in the office are absolutely incompetents and normally for every question if you make, they do not know nothing . no rent make more research and go to live in other place I am positive sure you will find out other condominium to live more professional and decent admiration .
