One thing I love about this park is that it’s the ONLY park I’ve been to that lets you check out at 2pm!! The camp grounds were clean and very quiet (tent camping). Lots of trails nearby to explore and a body of water that was closed off when we were there. Someone I knew was in the RV area and that was naturally a bit louder, but everyone we met was very respectful and still just as clean.

Lake looks very nice. Beach needs a little work. However the rangers at visitor center were were fabulous All three ladies were very informative and friendly . They really helped us out. Best service ever at a state park.

Was an OK experience. Loved the swimming area here. Set up like the beach. However, we rented a platform tent. We were informed as we were checking in that we would be visited by raccoons in the middle of the night. The zipper was torn open so they could come and go as they please. We ended up going and buying a tent and sleeping outside.

Campsites are a bit tight. They allow two tents on each site, but honestly there's not enough level space for two on most of the sites. We reserved the only family campsite and had plenty of room, but others looked cramped. That being said, the people running the site are super friendly and helpful. The lake and beach area are lots of fun, and renting a canoe or kayak and just spending the day on the water is an awesome way to relax. There was an evening lecture on moths that my son and his friend really enjoyed. I enjoyed the fire shown in the photo, time with friends, and listening to music out in the woods.
