Elk Meadow Park

I drove up to Evergreen for their famous mountain dog park. It was apparently closed. They said too many people didn’t clean up after their dogs. Too bad as it was wonderful for dogs and a nice little hike. This thing is mostly unshaded and dogs have to be on a leash.

Great snow hike! Tough trail, plan on spending some extra time if looking to ascend Bergen Peak in the winter. Don't get fooled by false summits!

Love this open space so much! This is one of my favorite spots for a hike. You can either walk across the meadow which is very easy but has beautiful views of the mountains. Or, you can hike throughout the mountains on different winding trails which are for more moderate to advanced hikers. This trail gets pretty busy on the weekends, highly recommend going during the weekdays. It also leads to the rec center, some small lakes which is nice for parking!

So I have terrible pictures of Elk Meadow Park, but I will say it was a lovely place to hike. It’s not super hard and very good for someone who may be a bit of a novice. We were even able to see a deer very close up which was pretty amazing. During the hike, we met a lovely man and woman name Bill and Anita. Both were so sweet and gave us some great places to check out. I just hate that we didn’t get a chance to check all of those place out. This area is dog friendly, so you can take you pooch out for a nice short or long hike depending on what trail you do.
