Definitely want to give you the "rustic" feel. Too much for me. No handicap ramp. Food was good and server polite.

I have been here before and had great food and service! This time however the food was bland, and I waited at least 10 minutes for my ticket, while watching and listening the waitress talking to the only other table who were finished and paid. As I was messaging on my phone for work, I hear the waitress talking badly about people and their phone addictions. She ranted and ranted never even bothering to look over at my table (The ONLY other table). After almost 10 minutes of listening to her talking rudely about people, I finally just got up and went to the bar side where the nice young lady let me pay for my food there. Trash talking customers is never a good look. This happened on Tuesday March 15, it was almost closing time as I was trying to be pay before 2.

We stumbled upon this place and it was fantastic. We stopped for lunch and the food was very good. The fries were probably some of the best I've ever tasted.

The last time I was here was in November 2015. I'm not sure if it was called "Uptown Tavern" at that time. I came with a friend to get some Taylor's Chili. The bar area is nice, with a sort of elegant appearance. Looks classic. If I lived in Carlinville, I'd probably be a regular here.
