We LOVE the R-Ranch!! It’s a safe, family friendly environment with “So” many things for the kids and the adults to do!! The cabins have ceiling fans in them now so they have more airflow at night for those hot summer nights. The only things that were bothersome were the speeding golf cars along the roads!! The owners should consider speed bump installation (especially on the downhill decent) to ensure more safety for the kids playing everywhere!! Great place all around!

Quite a unique getaway from the city. There are separate cabins rather than the typical multi-unit hotels. The furnishings were rustic, which matched the whole ambiance of a countryside farm. The unit we were in had 2 rooms, one with a Queen and the other with a bunk bed. I would say the place could accommodate 5 adults and 2 children if 3 people don't mind using the couch and futon in the living room. Immediately outside the sundeck is a chicken coupe. Just be forewarned that the rooster will wake you up early in the morning. If you have difficulty disconnecting from the grid, at the very least they have electricity, running water, and Wi-Fi, but there was no cell service at all. (The Wi-Fi kept disconnecting every minute or so—no exaggeration.) There is a small convenience store to buy snacks and drinks, or if you accidentally left some items at home. I was impressed by the pool that was just a few steps away from our cabin. It was very well maintained—sparkling, clear water, and many floaty toys for kids to play with. The activity I enjoyed the most was the horseback riding. The guide, Nolan, was super friendly, and taught us many facts about horses that I had previously thought were true. One such example is that horses don't sleep standing up; they actually sleep laying on the ground for only 2 hours at a time while the other horses are keeping watch. It just so happened that they were hosting the "Rednek Olympiks". It looked like a lot of fun for families with young children. Out of all the cabins available at the ranch, I believe we had the best one, because it was so centrally-located to everything. One last thing, I heard that it is mainly the previous guest's responsibility to clean the place for the next guest. The replenishing of toilet paper and clean towels is provided by the owner, though.

Best hidden gem in all Napa! We love coming here for riding, swimming, events and just chilling with family and friends. One of my favorite places in the world to go. Who needs to spend big dollars on expensive vacations when RRanch is an hour away!

Does it cost 1800 a year after the initial PR*ce

Assessments are determined annually and may vary. 2021 assessment is $1800 per share.

Why is the map in South Central Los Angeles? Whenever you Google search, despite the address being correct the map location is wrong with it being in Compton rather than in Napa County.

It is just off of "Old Capell Hill Rd". Actually I'm here at R-Ranch now.

I have a deed of sale from the 70's. What is it worth

I'm assuming that it isn't yours or that you've inherited it. This is a community ownership Ranch which means your deed is about 1/1800 ownership that requires an $1,800 per year fee for unlimited year-round use of the ranch. If it hasn't been paid this year it's basically an $1,800 debt you hold in your hands. If it hasn't been transferred into your name then the debt belongs to whoever is the current owner. The transfer into your name should you choose to use the grant deed, can be done through the county or 3 the ranch but the ranch will charge you a fee. You can try to sell it stay on Craigslist for the yearly assessment fee of $1,800 or less. Most people don't have any luck getting money for them and end up giving their share away

Has R Ranch been touched by the Napa fires?

Suzanne Trites | Aug 29, 2018

The comments above are correct. We also lost a lot of fences and the ranch house (the double-wide rental near the employee housing). The original main entrance is gone too. The ranch has a few facebook pages containing updats, but nothing more than noted above.
