Fr. Dennis is very kind, warm-hearted, and generous with his words. He offered to make lasagna. I missed the party. I pray that I will go to church there and get involved with him and his sacred ministry. I get depressed sometimes because I'm not balancing my schedule right. I have a three dimensional wooden facade made of three types of wood. I'd like to do philanthropy and donate one facade per student at St. Ambrose. My dad was baptized there in 1932. Every student is an artist. The rectangular MDF wood facades are meant for writing on, or making some kind of face using thousands of materials. By the way, this is Patrick O'Brien writing, not Nadia Kamal, I'm using her computer. The trademark name for this project is called Sturdy-Marky. I have a few pages of notes on how to use them. Please pray for me that I get out there and do it. I'd like to make the facades there at St. Ambrose with my equipment on a weekend. How many students go to St. Ambrose? These facades are a learning tool. The students can write anything on them such as poems, songs, equations, a description of themselves, or do collage, or photomontage. The students can use all sorts of stickers, oil paint, acrylic paint, and thousands of objects, using the recommended Lexel glue which glues any material onto the wood, sold at Anawalt Lumber in toothpaste types of tubes for easy and accurate squirting. Krazy glue is another good call to use, which can be bought at the 99 cent store. I will score a bunch of materials for the students. There is no way to make a mistake with these learning tool facades. If something doesn't work, there are hundreds of other options. It's good for students to experience using hand and eye coordination and being accustomed to seeing how materials respond to one another if combined. Innovation is inevitable, many inventions happen when people are making art, doing photography of the work, and doing creative writing about the pieces. The other philosophy that Sturdy-Marky has is to have compassion for anyone and anything. This is not a sales pitch because Patrick is 30% Irish and the Irish tend to not care about money. We'd rather write poetry and yield the gospel in speech. If the facades are made well, they will instantly appreciate in value and can be sold for five hundred dollars apiece. This is why splurging on quality art materials is imperative. Why not spend money on quality materials? The object of the game is also to make the work of art facade look like a million bucks. Actually, the goal of Patrick O'Brien at Sturdy-Marky is to get every person on the planet ten of these facades. That's over 70 billion of these facades. The wood used is MDF eight by four foot sheets which can make fifty-six rectangles. The rectangle is eight by ten inches. The stand is made of redwood and is two by two by three inches. The base is made of pine and is five by five inches in size. Then there are four one and one half inch capped metal nails used as well as one two and one half inch capped metal nail used. A hammer is used. They are built to last and if we did get ten in each person's hand on earth, this would accelerate learning all across the world way faster than how the school systems are teaching things nowadays. Those who don't have much access to education will be fulfilled with information written on these facades. I would have been so stoked as a grammar school student to score ten of these facades. I would have kept and referred to them for decades of time. They are like trophies. They are like awards. Gardening is also part of the Sturdy-Marky project using five gallon black plastic containers on the school asphalt for plant studies. The students can take notes and do photography of the plants. They will learn about propagation and the twelve soils in the world. In short, they will learn a wealth of knowledge about making art and gardening. They will be required to share information to teach one another things, rather than competing. Art and gardening are two topics that never end. At any rate, God loves you.

Outdoor Mass with keyboard and cantor! Registration online with Eventbrite and a contact tracing policy. Sunday morning is lovely under the shade of 2 giant trees. So grateful for St Ambrose!

This church is awesome. Well kept, nice and very welcoming. Father Dennis welcomes all parishioners AND visitors before mass personally. At the end of mass, Fr. Dennis invited all parishioners to have some birthday cake (it was his b-day that weekend) right after mass and talk with him. It was my family's first visit to the church so that was a great touch. We plan on coming back next weekend. Also the 6p sunday mass has a great vibe with a live band, it's very pleasant, full of energy and captures the local weho-vibe well.

I attended the 6 pm Sunday Mass here on March 31st, 2019 with a friend who wanted to visit this parish. I found both the older priest and the hospitality greeters very sincere in their welcome. The same priest actually interacted with the congregation during the homily and was very friendly. By the way, this parish is very gay friendly and even has a GLO ministry here that is sanctioned by the Los Angeles Archdiocese. The only room for improvement would be to get the church webmaster to upload updated bulletins {the most recent is from 2017) and to make the restroom off the lobby ADA accessible as well as parts of the parish center as both date back to the 1920s. I would come here again to worship if I was in the area.
