One thing to be aware of is that there are coyotes that live in the bushy areas. I see them at all times of the day and night. So when hiking with small dogs and small children, be cautious of your surroundings. This one was on the runway at 9:30 am.

Brackett air field is a great place whether you are a pilot or just a person looking for something to do in this area. Brackett was originally an air strip used by the Army in WW1 and later became a public airport for small planes and private jets. Its located across the street from. The dragstrip at Pomona fairgrounds in La Verne.The landscape surrounding Brackett is beautiful with hiking and Mtn.Bike trails and a campground with a lake at Bonnelli park. They also have a great diner that provides outdoor seating along the airstrip where you can watch the planes take off and land. Kids love this experience. Theres also an 18 hole golf course right next door. Bring the family, or even a first date and enjoy what Brackett air field has to offer!
