Beach currently closed due to NASTY algae bloom looking like green cotton candy strewn through the water. Can't see into water hardly at all. The parking lot and picnic areas seem to be open though along with restrooms. FYI there's no showers that I noticed. The bathrooms are a bit up the hill from beach...kinda odd. Lauch for kayaks or canoes etc to right of beach area or use boat landing to the west a bit which is better/easier. $5 fee to park or $30/annual, not sure how much it's enforced though. There's a paper form with pencils and drop box as well as newer card machine that prints receipt for your windshield display.

Went to the beach very clean. $5.00 to park. Not bad.Really cheap especially when you have 4 grandkids with. I love that they provide life jackets to use for free. Kids had a blast very family oriented..

Beautiful place to go for swimming and playing in the water/ on the beach anytime between late may to early August. After that the weather is a little more unpredictable so there's a higher chance of rainy cold weather. Also, this August (2021) there was a dangerous algae bloom and they warn people not to swim, or be careful where you swim. They had the restrooms closed and water fountain off which was pretty annoying

Parking lot seemed so full it'd be hard to find a spot but I got lucky and someone was leaving right towards the front when I was rolling that direction.. so, be warned when it's 90°+ on a weekend day, it might be hard to find parking. Was great for my 6 year old to swim though!
