No matter how many times I called, how many days in a row I called, or got on the website I was never able to get answers nor was ever able to speak to an actual person. Then when dealing with inside personel we were told we had to come in at 8am to get our benefits released. Then had to visit her again because they weren't released. I get that we are "lower class" but this is just wrong. Either they don't have enough trained employees or they just don't care. If it's the latter they chose the wrong kind of job.

I am genuinely surprised by the negative reviews. I came here 100% lost. I relocated from Dallas, TX with my 3 children. We were on Texas Benefits out there, medicaid and food and childcare. I came to Kansas during an emergency needing to relocate, and knew I'd have to start all over with an entirely new process. I knew I'd probably be a case nobody wants to handle, but they were so nice to me. I applied online, but for some reason the portal kept kicking me out and I had no idea what they were trying to communicate with me, so I went in person with little hope. But from the second I walked in to when I was helped behind the counter, I was treated like a human being. (in Dallas, they act like you are trash at their state offices.) My caseworker (I wish I had gotten her name, she was amazing) was SO helpful. She listened to me, she helped me understand the way they do things here, she got me the resources I needed and then some. I was approved right there for the programs I need, and she helped me apply for Medicaid. I feel she went above and beyond, and I wouldn't hesitate to come back. She stayed until 5 minutes before closing, helping me! As a matter of fact, I will be moving about half an hour away. But anytime I need assistance, I will make the drive to this office. Thank you kindly everyone 🙂

The caseworker/ supervisor number is a joke. They give all of Topeka the same number and 95% of the time it goes straight to VM. They return calls and reference the date of ur original message/request, and it's almost 2 weeks later! They do one attempt, leave a snotty message and say call back the same number that goes straight to vm. Quality assurance last is no help at all. She just goes to the supervisor but doesn't make anything happen. I think she is a buffer to keep the complaints internal.

they can't get off their butts and investigate a known child abuser who has custody only because the mother had no place to get away from him (manual vestal) won't let anyone see her I'm positive it's because of bruses and neglect after what I saw him do to his stepchildren. what sorry program is that!!!

Is this friendly and cooperative towards individuals that live out of state (such as Ohio). I plan on making a report against an April Meadors-Barrow and Dale L. Barrow for the child abuse I witness them doing to their two children up in Ohio.

Does the family live in KS? If not, you want to call the Ohio hotline or wherever they're living now. I don't what you mean by cooperative, but the hotline workers act professional.

What do you do when srs worker can't do her job.

If you have a concern about their professional conduct, you can file a report with the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board.
