I don’t have enough words to thank Dr Olson for being with me in this journey. Since the first appointment (Feb/2021) to this day ( 07/12/22) she was the best choice I ever made when comes in choosing a surgeon. She is not only extremely knowledgeable, but also she is kind and made me feel at ease about everything. The surgery went amazing! She cares not only for our health but also for the esthetic of it. Even thou my tumor was almost 2 cm and we had also removed some lymph nodes it does not looks like I ever had any surgery. I am very thankful I met her… She is not only a great professional but also such amazing human being! Also all her staff are amazing! Thank you! <3

Dr. and staff are outstanding. Especially Drs. receptionist. I went to my appointment with a great deal of apprehension and left with knowledge of my condition and a plan. I am so grateful.

Dr Olson was amazing on all levels. She took the time to discuss all options and make a plan for me. I was anxious and worried and she immediately made me feel taken care of. She is the best doctor I have ever had hands down!

Dr Olson is One in a Billion !! She and her entire staff are professionals and first class in my opinion. She really takes her time answering questions. I immediately felt a trust with her. She is smart, kind and warm . There really are not enough kind words in the dictionary to describe her. I highly recomend her. Just love this doctor :) Peach

During your consultation with me for a possible hernia, I will discuss with you the symptoms you are having, what brings the symptom about or makes it worse, and how long symptoms have been present. I will perform a physical exam and review any diagnostic tests your primary doctor or referring doctor may have obtained. If a hernia is confirmed, I will then discuss surgical options and timing for repair.

In regards to detecting a hernia, incisional, umbilical or groin (inguinal ) hernias are best detected by a physical exam by your doctor. Hiatal hernias ( hernias at the diaphragm where the esophagus connects to the stomach) are diagnosed.

How do I know if I might have a hernia?

The most reliable sign to determine if you might have a hernia is a new swelling or bulge in an area of your body such as the groin, mildline abdomen or umbilicus (belly button). Particularly if the swelling is in the area of a previous scar from a surgical procedure. Sometimes a person may simply have pain in the groin without a noticeable swelling but only a small percentage of these are actually hernias. These symptoms are reasons to see your doctor.
