Nice, kid friendly hike. The kids enjoyed throwing rocks in the water and I enjoyed all the beautiful trees. Lots of poison ivy and oak on the sides of the trail but not in the trail. It seems well maintained but there are a lot of trees that look close to falling, a few hanging over the trail, so be careful. Lots of roots but mostly flat. We went on Mother’s Day and it wasn’t very busy. The porta-potty was the cleanest I’ve ever been in. There was a cool zip line to help transport kayaks to the water and back. It said it does allow bicycles on the trail. Pets must be leashed but are welcome. Trails are very well marked and there are signs on a lot of the trees, telling what kind they are.

We didn't see any eagles or other wildlife. The trees were majestic.

Great trails! Clean, other than what washes up from the lake and perfect after a few dry days. It's definitely dated and could use more trash cans but an overall great place for an easy day hike.

I love Eagle Point Nature Preserve. If you are looking for a strenuous hike with lots of hills, this is not the place, but the trails are beautiful and it’s a great place for bird watching. The first time I was there I had the good fortune to be standing next to a tree from which an adult eagle flew out. Epic. Haven’t seen it since, but there’s always next time! Definitely don’t forget the bug spray.
