This place is a vibe. Excellent service and a premium authentic Italian feel. Looking for a nice romantic place in Riverside this is your spot. On the expensive side, especially the specials. Food was pretty good and you can ask for Olive Oil and Balsamic for the bread.

Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The chefs use the best quality ingredients to produce dishes that are simply delightful. The restaurant also offers a wonderful drink menu, and they offer one of the best wines in the region. The drinks are pricey but surely worth sampling. Me and my friend fried their steak and mushroom ravioli and it was absolutely delicious! In contrast, however, the service was not of the highest quality. It seemed to me that the waiters were not very engaged or interested in their jobs. But the owner seemed very warm and thoughtful. He came around to check on our experience and seemed to be authentically engaged.

Mario's Place is my new FAVORITE classy romantic upscale Northern Italy inspired restaurant. We dined in on a fully booked Friday evening with reservations made earlier that day. It's conveniently situated across from the Mission Inn Hotel. It wasn't difficult to find street parking when we arrived. So impressed with the care and attentiveness of their staff. Originally we were sat near the bar and when we asked to be sat in a cozier booth the manager Alan was able to accommodate us immediately. Our server Aaron and Billy provided top notch customer service throughout the night. Aaron made sure we had everything we needed. Billy kept us entertained and laughing with his quick witted comments from the friendly banter he and my date were having. We ordered a bottle of the Chianti red wine and it was lovely! We brought a bottle and I believe the corkage fee was $20-$25. For starters we ordered the fried calamari with tomato basil vinegarette and butter sauce which was perfectly prepared. The Wild Mushrooms Ravioli was so delicious and melts in your mouth. The Tortellini filled with roasted butternut squash, ricotta and sage butter sauce was absolutely heavenly. I ate every single bite and drop of sauce it was that good! Next time, I'm saving room for dessert. We will definitely be returning often.

I attended an event here and I was very impressed with the food/service. The pureed corn soup was ridiculously delicious. By far one of the highlights of the night for everyone. I've never been particular about my steak but new york strip was cooked perfectly - super tender and super juicy. Cut like butter. Great wine selection as well. 10/10 would come back.

No, but it is what I would call dressy casual. No tanks, flip flops, strapless, shorts. It is a dinner house atmosphere.
Temperatures are taken at the door for the saftey of their customers and staff.
Yes it is vegetarian friendly.
If you have an appetizer, soup or salad with a main and dessert, then you're looking at approximately $50.00 a person. The food is always amazing and totally worth it. Particularly for special occasions.
Hi Sharon c my husband and I tried to go last Thursday open for dining however no music as of yet. Ask us to check back in about a month and they should start back up. I hope this helps
No! But the food was delicious! And the wine that the server recommended was wonderful! Great service, will recommend this restaurant to anyone !👌🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Mushroom ravioli was really good!
Call around 3:30pm. They are taking calls before the restaurant opens.
No. But most people dress nice. Nothing overly casual like shorts slippers and tank tops.
There is a parking garage on Orange st.
Yes, California casual but we prefer no baseball caps and no tank tops. Just come with a good attitude and a big appetite for food, drink and music 😁
Best to check its website for the very latest schedule.
Mario's place is closed on Sundays and the first week of July it's closed
You can call anytime and leave a voice message they will get back to you
Always, unless you're just going to be at the bar.
No, you are charged per item ordered.
I don't know how Mario came to Riverside, but I can tell you that the original Mario's that I remember was in the early 1980's. They were in a small house on Magnolia Ave. where Ralph's grocery store is now, across the street from Taylor's Appliances. Each room was set up with intimate dining areas, dimly lit and very romantic. The parking lot was a small self-serve car wash next door. Always high-end, the food was fabulous and the atmosphere was like nothing else in Riverside! They outgrew that space and I think their next move was to the corner of Spruce & Chicago, where they stayed for several years before moving to their current location downtown across the street from the Mission Inn. I'd say they've been downtown since maybe late 1990's or thereabout. Much more centrally located and nice atmosphere than the Spruce/Chicago location. Mario (dad) was the original cook; now the sons carry on. Love, love, love this place!! Even just dining at the bar is worth it!
No. Forget it.
There is a chef prefix menu of 6 courses. In 2017, it’s $100 per person earlier in the evening and $125 later. I only know as I think I received the last Early reservation and I’m going tonight. Obviously, reservations are almost required at Mario’s from Thanksgiving through New Years.
I would walk in and ask. When you walk in DO NOT go in street clothes! I would say office attire. 😉👍 good luck
