Awesome skate shop! My son wanted to get his first board. We were about to buy one online but decided to check out this shop first since I like to support local businesses whenever I can. So glad we did! Jeff was awesome and answered all our questions. He helped us pick out the right components for my son and explained the different options. Then he built the board right there in front of us. You can tell he has done this 1000 times and it was perfect. My son was super stoked and is riding his new board non stop. It was cool to see how they put the board together and we learned a lot about the board and it’s use. And if that wasn’t enough, it was the same or better price as what it would’ve cost us online. I’ll never buy online as long as this shop is around. And they have some old school boards with clay wheels you can look at. It’s like a museum in there.

Went to South Bay Skates to get my son a new deck. He’s still new to skateboarding. I used to skate back in the day but haven’t been to a shop in years. They hooked us up. Took time to show my son deck after deck. No rushing but instead made sure we saw everything. Then the grip tape which we took home and did ourselves. The owner agreed that’s half the fun. I recommend this place big time.

I love this spot. The staff in here is super chill and they have everything an aspiring or seasoned skater could ask for. I've got many decks from here and every time I walk out more than satisfied. Even their apparel is on point. I got a pair of shoes from here and they are absolutely sick. I live outside of the city they are located and I'll gladly make the trip every time just for the fun and professional experience these guys give.

About a year ago I bought an 8.5" shop deck from them. It became a little crowded after I got there. When the gentleman applied the grip tape he was extremely precise and did not rush it. They were very knowledgeable and respectful. I would definitely purchase again... Oh and I think their blanks aren't expensive...
