10/10 would recommend!! The place is well organized and staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! Chris helped me plan an entire landscape within my budget and had me laughing the whole time! If you don’t know anything about plants these guys will help you figure it out and if you know a lot you will appreciate the variation and quality here!

They know their stuff! What a pleasure to deal with! I took my family to this nursery based on a recommendation - now I understand why! We bought a home here (coming from the west coast) and are unfamiliar with the growing habits of the area. We walked around the nursery and gathered a tray of beautiful, healthy flowers and plants only to be advised by a nursery employee to put it all back when we showed her the pictures of where we were planning on planting. We were told that these plants would not do well in direct sunlight. AWESOME to know that our long term results were more valued than the quick (and significant) sale. THEN...we asked about trees! The FANTASTIC young lady (I am so sorry that I didn't get her name) advised us (again, based on where we told her where we were planning to put them) what we should/shouldn't be looking for (keeping "aggressive roots" and sun/shade in mind). She was so very helpful! When we did decide, she picked the healthiest of the healthy and helped stuff our SUV. Can't wait until planting season comes around again - We Will DEFINATELY be back!!

My husband and I emailed Settlemyre because we are not plant people, and we had an eyesore of a garden space out front of our home. We emailed a picture, the dimensions, the direction it faced, and a little about our vision to the nursery. We received a prompt response and quickly got an appointment. At our appointment, we were afforded the expertise of Beth. She quickly, efficiently, and skillfully helped us build the beginnings of something beautiful. All of our plants are thriving and make us feel so much better about our home. (As a side note, I believe Beth was training someone at the time of our purchase, and it made us feel even better because to hear her explain things to this new employee gave us new knowledge and really showed just how professional and knowledgeable Beth is about her job. It was great to see!)

Questions & Answers

I would like to plant some pansies; is this a good time and how long will they bloom?

Alice Humphries | May 1, 2021

Hi Alice. Typically pansies are best to plant in the fall through late winter as they thrive in cool seasons. They will live up until it gets hot in the summer (may/June). We are now selling our summer annuals which will last until fall first frost. Thanks for asking!

I recently purchased bee balm from you. Is it the Bush type or trailing type?

Melissa Hinze | Jul 31, 2018

It is an upright variety. The large blooms make the stems very heavy especially with heavy rainfalls so they sometimes lay down. Feel free to trim the wild ones and more will come up in the middle.
