Great experience with helpful, friendly staff. Everything looks delicious. They've got Mcconnell's Fine Ice Creams, I got Eureka Lemon and Marionberries. For steak I bought choice new york and delmonico, I'll update with pictures after I cook them up to an internal temperature of 135°F.

Lovely store. Excellent service. Service animal friendly 🐕🦺. Butcher shop inside with amazing quality and selection of beef and other meats. There's always someone to help you so you're not in line forever if at all. The soda selection is also pretty nice. I have gone back and would recommend it to friends and family.

After reading a few of the negative comments, I thought about my experiences there. Not once was anybody rude to me and any questions I had they were knowledgeable. And yes, I’m knowledgeable as well. However, everyone has a bad day so I can see it happening. A bit pricey but if you know how to cook, you’ll get your money’s worth. If you understand the difference in quality meats, this is the place. If you don’t care or do not understand, do not bother. Take your time and learn. Overall, 5/5. Their salsas were fantastic as well. Attached are the Delmonico Steaks and Short Ribs I purchased from there. Hands down the best steaks I have ever made and had. I made a lasagna with the short ribs is they just fell apart after a low simmer for 3 hours in the sauce. Fantastic!

Smokin Joes BBQ on the weekends was awesome! I was able to impress the father-in-law! As for the store itself, Iowa Meat Farms and it's sister store Seisels are they best meat markets in town. Their Prime Rib makes me look like a superstar when I bring it to a family holiday. All the meat the provide is top shelf. In addition to their solid meat selection they have massive amounts of uniques hot sauces, pasta sauces, BBQ sauces and the likes. I was even able to buy some hard to find drinks like bubble-up.

Derrick, if you like to bbq or smoke this place is worth a visit. They have a bunch of meats that you can't get anywhere else in San Diego. They have fresh fish and poultry choices too.
I have seen chicken bones and beef and pork bones in their freezer section. I have not looked close enough to know if there are turkey bones.

I understand that in march you can place an order for corned beef. I was there to buy short ribs tgat day and person next to me bought some from a order they placed earlier.vUnknown if u can get corned beef at another time as i have never purchased any before.
They have frozen cuts of both always. I don't think they'll carry fresh cuts of either, but you can call and ask for an order, they'll tell you if they can do it.

They had pork belly when I was there. But you have to braise it nad make it Japanese style. There are a few marinated meats but most of the stuff is raw or frozen and you have to prepare it.

Your best bet for lean ground beef... Ask the butcher for a nice lean cut of beef (roast) and have them grind it for you. That way you know it's just one cut of lean beef. I like to grind my own beef. I know what's in it and I can season it with fresh herb at the same time!
