The park is open now. I visited today, 11/5/2017. Beach is open. The famous lagoon road circling it is closed. The restaurant is closed and will be for a long time. The bike path is both flooded and full of tree debris.

Yes, the place is nice to share as a family. Unfortunately I do not have that answer, I always go weekends. The beach is open while it has a lifeguard. If you can check the photos I uploaded, I think one of them is the access sign to it. Luck!

Seems to be free to enter because I drove there on Feb 20th and we were not charged anything. There was a guard sitting in the pay booth but when I stopped to pay he didn't even get up or open his window/door. He simply waved us in to enter.

The park is public but entrance is paid until around 5pm. Yes, you can bathe on the beach, there are 3 lifeguard booths. Although now a part of the beach is closed pending construction, before it is the shallow part is still open.

There is a "no pet allowed" sign at the entrance of the park, however I have taken my dog to the marine area all the way back.

About three-quarters of it is open. There is still a area that is closed. It definitely does not take away from the beauty of the park

There is crocs and alligators all over Florida, I have never seen one here but either way if you are with kids don't leave them unattended.

You need to be specific about what activity you are interested in because there are several. Beach, picnic, bicycling, wind surfing, boat launch, marina... Go to the Miami-dade parks department Web site. It's all there.

I didn't know about the dredging, but would have guessed that it's for to all the decomposing vegetative matter around that area, mangroves etc usually aren't as crystal clear as exposed beaches. Great park though. I posted a couple pics of the hammock i set up. Thought about trying to sleep there overnight even though we had a condo... Anyone know if you can sleep there overnight?

Yes, you can in the designated and correct areas of the park.

The area is a lot different after the hurricane though. It's still nice, but expect to be surprised. The restaurant is closed, parking is free for now. There's no guard at the entrance, it's open.

There are two parts to the park, there is a fee for parking at the beach and boat ramp, in the picnic park and pond at the entrance there is a free lot. You can park at the free lot and walk or bicycle to the beach or boat ramp. Free lot gets full if there is a birthday or wedding event

Open to people who already have boats there so they can take care of then. Otherwise closed until further notice. Beach and restaurant are also closed. Lots of damage. Tidal surge was around 6 feet above ground level Today is 9/19.
