I came into Guillobel school in a really bad place in my life mentally. The first day I had an extreme amount of anxiety and was pretty nervous to try something new. I had been to other gyms in the past and for the most part I had bad experiences with the people and atmosphere. Guillobel was absolutely the opposite. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with smiles and the sound of laughter. The students were and are sincerely happy to see new students come in. It changed my perception of Jiu Jitsu pretty quickly. I have been training every week for 8 months now. Sensei Paulo and all his amazing instructors not only have taught me the art of Jiu Jitsu, but they have helped give me a safe place to express myself and support through the hard times, and a support group who cheers you on through the good times. Guillobel is an amazing family atmosphere. I believe with all my heart that if it wasn’t for Sensei Paulo and the love and kindness his gym continues to show me, there is a good chance I may not have been alive much longer. Thank you Sensei and everyone I know at Guillobel. You all saved my life. Osss!!

I live in LA and come to San Clemente occasionally to train with the family at Guillobel BJJ. I have nothing but great things to say about all my experiences there! The instruction is always excellent, the facility is clean and beautiful, and the people are all super friendly and fun. Its the perfect place for beginners to experts. Paulo has deep knowledge and experience in BJJ and he loves to share with those who are willing to learn. A great place for beginners to experts for BJJ training!

I've trained here for just over a year, and I'm glad I did my research in the area before committing to go to Guillobel's. This is not the McDonaldization of Jiu Jitsu- Paulo and Andre have the pedigree, patience, and experience necessary to be true teachers and mentors. A year ago, I was looking for a relaxed yet dedicated workout regimen within the martial arts, and I've found it in jiu jitsu, specifically at this academy. I'm grateful for the humble and tough students I've trained with, and detail-oriented education I've received, thanks guys!
