Absolutely wonderful; better than I hoped. I'm a novice rider, but wanted to ride an Icelandic horse; Star Gait set it up for me to succeed. I'm a large rider (6'1", 175), and I'm using riding a larger horse. Star Gait asked some good questions about my riding experience and capabilities and put me up on an absolute sweetheart of a horse (turned out to be the owner's competition mount) - took us out on the trail and after a bit of observation & assessment explained (quite clearly) how to Tolt (the special gait of the Icelandic horse). What a blast! If they weren't so far away, I'd do it again.

Jo Ann is an excellent owner and guide. She has well trained, well cared for horses that NEVER buck, or run off unexpectedly. Trail rides are tailored to the experience level of the riders and are lots of fun. I especially like the wooded areas of the trail which are full of wildflowers in the spring and cool and shady in the summer. I highly recommend Star Gait Training.

We booked same weekend for my anniversary on Monday. The owner was very nice, was there ready to greet us and show us around the arena. She talked about the horses she has and the trail we would be riding. She took us around the arena to get used to the horses and then away we went!!! Beautiful trail and nice views!! The horses were amazing and friendly!!! The instructor held convo the entire time and we will for sure be back again!!! Best anniversary ever!!! Can't wait to take my daughter next time!!!

We traveled up from Maryland to ride the Icelandic ponies on the intermediate trail ride and had a great time! The ponies are well trained but not dead broke, which along with the varied terrain and beautiful scenery made the ride fun and enjoyable. Jo Ann is very knowledgeable and gave me some tips to help me with my own pony at home. It's always time well spent when you can have fun doing what you love and learn something in the process. It was well worth the drive! Thanks Jo Ann!!!
