Tasting Room & Taphouse at Mount Ida Reserve

Mount Ida is my new favorite cville winery! They have amazing sangria and mimosas that are so refreshing. Their frosé is a popsicle in their rosé which is so fun even though I'm not a rosé person. Both times I've been, I split a bottle of their viognier with friends and loved it. They also have food available and don't allow outside food but I haven't been able to give it a try yet. The views are scenic and gorgeous and they have plenty of indoor seating and seating in the shade. The service is attentive. The prices are a little high but nothing anomalous for cville wineries and totally worth it for the views. If you're visiting, I would recommend downloading offline maps for the area (you can do this in Google maps) so you can navigate home if you can't get service at the winery. The views are panoramic and stupendous. It's a beautiful facility it is well laid out that leaves plenty of opportunity for social distancing as well as partying. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. This place makes for a great day trip. I'd highly recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this gorgeous winery/brewery! The venue itself is "knock your socks off" beautiful with sweeping vistas of the Virginia mountains, sprawling hardscapes, fountains, and lovely internal spaces. As you pull up to the Tasting Room, you are impressed with the lovely building itself blending naturally with its environment and landscaping with amazing attention to detail! The ladies that greeted us were friendly and efficient, seating us immediately and sending our first glass of wine directly to the table. The wait staff was impecable! Their manners, knowledge of their products and friendly banter made for an incredibly enjoyable experience....expecially Jonah!! But don't discount the food--we truly had one of the best grass fed (from the estate!) burgers and fries that we have ever tasted!....and we had such a great time, we called more of our family to join us later that day! Thank you for makeing our Sunday Funday!! We WILL be back!!

A beautiful building with large windows all facing a gorgeous view! The outdoor area couldn't be more picturesque and well manicured! The wine is delicious and thankfully they have beer on tap for those that don't drink wine. There is also a nice selection of food...A little something for everyone. The only issue I've had the two times I've visited, was the tasting associates (or bartenders) were less than enthusiastic. Other than that, I would highly recommended this place especially for impressing out of town guests, birthdays, and romantic dates.
