Loon Lake Recreation Site

Great lake for swimming, boating, paddle boards, jet ski even fishing. Picnic tables and BBQ pits. Only thing i didn't like is they only have 1 handicap parking spot. I think with as many people that comes they should have more than 1.

This was my first time at Loon Lake. I had gone over the website to see what their amenities were and we decided to rent a canoe. When I arrived I had no idea where to go because the area is so large. I had to stop at two different locations just to find out where to go for rentals. There were no directional signs and no information posted on boards. There was also no internet service even at the lodge. There was no parking unless you were at the lodge or motel. The lake was beautiful, but unfortunately there was no one available to help us with a boat rental.

Such a beautiful place to go camping with family , there’s a playground , sand , and plenty of other kid friendly areas that have kept me and my family coming back for over 25 years , not to mention everyone who camps there is super friendly and all in all provides such a wholesome camping experience 10/10!

Although the sign says the recreation area is closed, the Eastshore Recreation Area is open. It has 6 secluded campsites on a hill across the road from the lake. There were only 2 campers there when I arrived on September 8. There’s a nice little swimming beach and picnic tables at the lake. Water temp around 70. I had it practically all to myself.
