Great group of people. Always courteous and very informative. We make a monthly trip for our household waste and enjoy the visit every time.

Friendly people - 2 of them and they don’t accept tip. They swipe your resident ID to make sure you’re a resident of Contra Costa. Then they take the items from your car. Super way process. They take paint, electronics, lightbulbs.

Easy drop off. Just roll in, they swipe your id and unload your stuff. Couldn't be easier.

15 gallons total, per vehicle, per trip.
We accept sharps from residents in our service area that are brought to us in approved sharps containers. Please visit our website at https://www.deltadiablo.org/sharps for more information about our sharps program.
Yes
Todd, that is correct. We do not take toilets. Try Mt Diablo Resource Recovery just a mile down the road from us.
You can legally transport 15-gallons or 125 pounds of waste to the Delta Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility per trip. The volume/weight applies to the waste itself (i.e., if you have 10 partially full 1-gallon cans, that is within the limit). The maximum container size is 5-gallons.
Yes you can
Under normal circumstances, items that are mostly full and have a legible label are placed in our Reuse Room for other residents to take and reuse. We cannot guarantee the quality of those items and a waiver form must be completed to take the items. Unfortunately, with the pandemic, the Reuse Room is closed at the moment. Our website will be updated once the Reuse Room is open. Visit us at https://www.deltadiablo.org/household-hazardous-waste for more info.
An approved sharps container is typically a 1.4 liter container that is made for holding sharps (they are puncture proof). They can usually be found in pharmacies/drug stores. Also, if you are new to the sharps program and live in our service area (Antioch, Bay Point, Bethel Island, Brentwood, Byron, Discovery Bay, Knightsen, Oakley or Pittsburg), you can have a sharps container mailed to you and you can exchange full ones for empty ones at the HHW facility. Call (925) 756-1900 to request.
We can take water coolers as long as there is no refrigerator built into the unit. The use of the facility is free of charge to residents of Antioch, Bay Point, Bethel Island, Brentwood, Byron, Discovery Bay, Knightsen, Oakley and Pittsburg.
We do not accept plastic, just household hazardous waste from residents of our service area. For more information, please visit our webiste at https://www.deltadiablo.org/household-hazardous-waste.
No, I dropped off two there no limit stated on the flyers I received in mail.
Yes, we accept old gasoline. Of course it should be brought over in a sealed container for safety, but we are able to return the container if you ask staff.
Yes we accept electronic waste such as televisions and computers. More information on what is accepted can be found out at https://www.deltadiablo.org/household-hazardous-waste.
It is not recycle. They take household waste, for example paint, motor oil, etc.
They will take paint and oil. Call them about fuels.
Yes, gasoline is accepted.
No fee for residents of east Contra Costa county. Proof of residency required. (Drivers license).
Yes
Ya they pretty much take all TV's. I've dropped off a few TV's there myself. Just check to make sure they're open, they are closed the 1st few days of the week.
