They get $7k a year in interest on my home loan but can't afford to send me a paper statement for my personal checking... Seems to me an "opt-in" option would be a better way to save money and maintain customer service.

Yes. Either way they have to verify the amount by counting it because they do not have a coin counter. We will hand count an amount within reason, but if you have a large amount I would recommend visiting the Shippensburg or Carlisle office where they have a coin counter as it would be much faster.
