Your online total price estimate showed up on both Google and your own website without including the $55 valet charge. This charge was also not mentioned (at least in no way clearly at all) upon reservation of the room. When I reached the hotel and was told by the receptionist that I would be charged $280 instead of the $225, that I expected based on the prices consistently shown to me (plus tax), I was lied to that the $55 was a "security deposit" and that I would have it refunded back to me after my stay (which it was not). I then asked if I could get a receipt showing this mysterious $55 dollar charge as the supposed "security deposit" but the receptionist claimed that there was no way to print out a receipt at that time and that I would get it in an email the next day. It was only when I received the receipt via email the next day that it clearly stated the $55 charge was for valet parking. At no point was the “valet parking” offered to me as an option, it was either automatically added or I was opted-in without my consent. While I did utilize the valet parking after this exchange with the receptionist, it was in-part because no cost was stated for it (and I assumed that would be worked out with the valet themselves) and it was construed by the receptionist as the only option for parking through the hotel. Removing this $55 from the indicated online price is an intentional act of deception in order to manipulate search results to show the Hilton Portland Downtown Hotel as more competitive. Honestly, if I had seen the $55 included in the price, I would not have chosen to stay there. I could have stayed outside downtown to avoid such required parking fees but chose to stay here because of the deceptively lower price. So, nice short-term achievement, Hilton. However, while I have previously stayed at Hilton Hotels locations on many previous nights at other locations, I will no longer choose to stay at any Hilton Hotels or their affiliates as long as they (and any other hotels who do similarly) continue to fail to disclose all fees. Also, while I didn't catch his name, the receptionist had a pretty poor attitude and was slow on the computer (in addition to lying to me about the valet charge). There was also a trail of crumbs/dirt under the bed which I discovered with my bare foot, and you could feel the springs in the bed as it weakly sloughed when you simply sat on it. Otherwise, the rest of the stay was positive. The room was nice and clean as well as the elevator, valet, and check-out were fast. I give this only a 1 star because Google says it means "poor" and 2 stars means "ok", and this experience was "poor".

This probably our first and last time staying at this hotel, and will really affect future consideration of Hilton hotels even with my Hilton membership. Check-in receptionist not polite and really started our stay with a very uncomfortable vibe, sadly. Did not greet us as guests when check-in, couldnt even hear what he said clearly and showed no desire to provide info about our stay, couldn’t answer billing questions (what included in charges/hold at check-in) & again showed no desire to assist us. Also did not wear name tag like other staff, which we had to ask for name. When we came to ask to manager, he was right next there and gave us a not nice look as we left after asking manager about credit card charged. We have never experienced such bad customer service and an uneasy, unsafe feeling at a hotel, somewhere we should feel safe. Couldn’t sleep at ease so up writing a review for management improvement. We understand people may have good & bad days at work. We’re always nice & courteous to all service staff knowing the hard work they put in, but standard service & sense of safety is expected. We paid for a park & stay room rate, and again confused when got an emailed bill for $55 valet parking (yes very pricey parking option but we opted to that rather than public/street parking for safety reasons). The valet guy and manager Raymond were nice though. Other than that the room is fine, toilet is pretty compact though (with visible water damage/stain on ceiling). Very close to restaurants and things to do in downtown so you can walk to many places.

Overall the hotel is very nice. The rooms are very small and there is no fridge or microwave in the rooms. We had to call 4 times before getting any extra towels or wash cloths. Do not expect your room to get cleaned or trash taken out- ever! We were there 5 days and asked twice to get our room cleaned and no one ever came. We finally had to ask for trash bags to empty our own trash cans. If you are thirsty- no need to try a drink machine. ALL of them are out of order. Literally, every machine on every floor and the cafe to buy them in the lobby area closes at lunchtime. It was very frustrating as a guest for a conference to have to walk blocks to get a beverage! Location is great and is walking distance to many great restaurants and the river!

The rooms and lobby are very modern looking and fresh. Some of the fixtures seem outdated, like the AC controls and the shower. The bed is really firm. The bathroom is small in general. The staff are super helpful and accommodated early check in. The restaurant keeps odd hours, I'm not sure if that's covid related or always the case. I'd stay here again for another conference if it was the official hotel but probably not as an independent traveler

They actually do in their bathrooms.
Great question. You absolutely may bring your dog! There is a $50 pet deposit, and a max weight of 75 pounds. Thanks!
If they have a room available, they might let you but it isn't guaranteed.
The Hilton itself has a restaurant in it's lobby, and they have long wooden tables also in the lobby where 10 people could sit.
Self parking not available. Valet parking is available at $50/day.
My room didn’t have a microwave or a fridge. I was told by the concierge that they normally don’t have them in the rooms. I requested them but was put on a waiting list. The hotel lobby is lovely but so many other things not good. I will not be staying at this Hilton again. The Nines is a much better choice with much better service
They have a shuttle service that ran every 30 minutes that is handicapped accessible.
The lightrail is 2 blocks away and $2.50. way cheaper than uber or lyft
No free parking. There are a few parking garages that are reasonably priced. The one I chose was across the street and costed me $45 for three days.

Valet can direct you to closest open lot that can take bus. Be prepared to pay dearly for the space.
opposite side of the Willamette. But the buses run right from the hotel over to convention center 10 minutes travel time.
The room I stayed in had a shower only it was excellent but it was just a shower..
You can walk to the downtown Nike store in just a few minutes. Youre in the center of the heart of Portland.
