The park is nice but I don't like that they force reservations through Reserveanerica. They charge a fee of $5 and that is beyond the $60 non residential fee for a campsite, which is way too overpriced. It's a nice park but come on. A National Park campground which is usually very nice is cheaper.I hoped that I can get a walk-in reservation on a Sunday for an electric site. But the nice lady in the window said only through RA website. I also have to make the reservation by two or else I can't get one. It was 1:45. Quickly went on the website, but only one electric group site was available for one night only which then i reserved. The park was kind of empty, i see many open sites. Usually parks don't have much traffic during the week. I wonder if people arrive later or they are just blocked off on the website. So basically instead of paying for 3 nights as a walk in, I'm forced to stay one because I'm not willing to pay another $5 to reserve the next night. It seems like a pretty park but they are going to lose so much money if they won't allow same day drive in reservations for during the week. It will be just empty.

Cool place to go camping. We go there every year. The lake can be a bit murky and you should be ready for lots of mosquitoes, but otherwise we love the place!

What a great find! We were doing a quick Labor Day House Hunting trip up to Boston from Virginia. We were at site 111 which has power, water and is located across from the restrooms. We have a Thor Sequence 20A so it was a very convenient site for us. The restrooms were always clean and have a couple of showers with hot water and restrooms. The outside of restrooms also has a kitchen sink to wash your dishes that also includes hot water. The sites are spaced out perfectly. It can be a bit dirty/muddy depending on rain so plan knowing you will need to sweep your rugs/mats/tarps a few times or have a dirty shoe bin for the outside of your tent/RV. The campsite is a great place to stay if you want to do both city and nature adventures. I can't wait to return!

We love this place. It is a great family campground that's becoming a family tradition. There's a playground, a swimming area, hiking and mountain biking in the surrounding state forest. It's great for our family of 5. Just learned that the campground is named for Harold Parker's daughter Lorraine. Seems fitting since my daughter is always stoked to be here.

MA state parks are seasonal for most camping the exception would be yurt camp offerings. You must provide your own heat or purchase much wood for warmth in those scenarios.
It's a small natural pond, but it's nice
14 days.
Yes, even on a "vehicle" site. Tent sites are smaller. If the only vehicle sites available are the ones with electricity, you'll have to pay $6 extra
I've been going there my whole life and never heard of them chemically treating the ponds.i was just there last weekend for a camping trip and we all went in the water everyday!
100% need rent a site if you're gonna grill. Every site has a fire pit and grill. If you're from mass it's only 17 dollars

No electric hookups.
There are about 11 sites with electric. I'm at one right now. It is new this season.
Yes, they accept reservations about 6 months in advance. The waterfront camp sites are usually reserved very early, however you should be able to get a campsite elsewhere in the campground. Only certain cites are RV suitable, so make sure you take that into consideration if necessary. Also, I have seen the campground full often, so I would recommend making a reservation for your preferred dates ASAP, especially if a weekend stay is what you're looking for.
Depends on how far you're willing to walk, but nothing is available in less than a hour round trip walk, if I had to estimate.
Yes we have a couple ponds that are good for kayaks
17 for mass residents 27 for out of state a night
I don't believe they offer seasonal rentals, because this campground is run by the state park department.
No, the campground is closed in October and open again in May.
