To my surprise, this trail is actually not far at all from Lone Mountain....on the opposite side. Bathrooms available, nice parking space, clean. A few interesting caves around. A few trails to choose from. We decided to head through a nice little trail at a slight incline that takes you to the peak (easily done, not much of an elevation). Easy/moderate I would say. If you decide to go through the lower middle area, expect a lot of loose rock and some ankle twisting. Other then that, nice views, and very peaceful.

What a great place for hike, the trails are extensive in beautiful desert terrain. How far do you want to go? Just round the hill and let your sense of adventure guide you. Easy to moderate with some trails going to the tops of moderate peaks. Nearby shops good for supplies and post hike refreshments.

The trailhead is located between two mountains that lead to a network of interconnected smaller trails. The looping trail is on the side of the mountain which is narrow with dirt and rocks that can get slippery in some sections. The looping trail has several exits to other trails that lead away from the mountain southward towards another range of mountains. The second mountain is smaller and has less elevation with a flag at the top. The pathway up to the flag is not clearly marked. In between both mountains is a dry river bed that connects to other smaller trails on the back of the hill. The southside has a development of houses that are visible as you hike. The parking lot is paved and restrooms are on site. Easy to moderate hike. I enjoyed it.

The trail is rated moderate, but it was very easy. There were a half dozen spots of incline for 20 yards or so, but nothing intense. the views were ok, nothing special. If you are looking for a quick easy walking hike that is close to Summerlin, this is a spot for you. Not a lot of people, maybe 20 or so when we were there (Sunday 8:30-10:30 am). Lots of dogs with those people. Do this in the winter when its colder, no shade anywhere that could cause problems in warmer weather.

No paved trails. Lots of variety. At bottom of canyon fairly easy but trails along side and at back pretty technical with lots of potential for air and injury on way down. I would not ride alone or without helmet.
