I use to dread the dentist until I switched to Maine Dentistry. Every staff member is so welcoming, patient and kind from the moment you walk in the door until the moment you leave. They pay great attention to detail, explain everything in a way that makes sense, make the most of your benefits/insurance and make you feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Highly recommend.

Maine dentistry is an amazing, friendly, thoroughly modern experience in dentistry. I had been delaying some work because of lack of insurance, and they were able to offer me an in-house plan with a discount on larger procedures like crowns. And such excellent care! I spent 3 hours in the chair getting an old filling replaced and a crown made for a broken molar. I felt NO pain, was made comfortable with tv to watch, a blanket when I got chilled, and really attentive staff. I can't say enough good things about this practice.

The staff at this location is amazing. They all seem to genuinely care about the patients and are always kind and friendly. Everyone is so encouraging too!!! I have gotten my oral health into an amazing place due to the time that has been spend by the staff to teach and offer suggestions for products that fit my specific needs as opposed to a one size fits all approach. Obviously everyone there deserves a ton of credit for my improvement, but a huge shout out goes to Daria. She has been wonderful to work with. Just the best!!! I just can't say enough about the folks here. Anyone looking to have a better experience at the dentist should check this place out!

I cannot recommend Maine Dentistry enough! I have never met a nicer group of people. They do everything possible to make sure you are comfortable during your visit. They are so knowledgeable and explain everything that they are doing along the way. You can absolutely tell that they love what they do and they are exceptional at it! I never thought I would be someone who actually enjoys going to the dentist, but now that I've found Maine Dentistry, I do!!!

Questions & Answers

Are you set up to be able to perform the laser fillings for cavities?

Kristen | Aug 28, 2019
Maine Dentistry | Aug 28, 2019

Hi Kristen, Thank you for reaching out to us! We no longer offer laser treatment for cavities. We did have the laser at one time and we found it was not living up to the hype. We do use special electric instruments to quickly and painlessly remove cavities and everyone seems to be very happy with it. We would love to have you in for a visit to see the other methods we use to keep the appointment as enjoyable and painless as possible!

Do you have a 3D scanning device and do you treat cavitation?

Andy Damon | Aug 28, 2019
Maine Dentistry | Aug 28, 2019

Hi Andy, we have several 3D scanning devices that are top of the line. We do treat tooth decay and cavities. Do you have someone specific you would like for us to look at?

If Porcelain crowns are too long (noticeably ) can they be shortened or filed down? If so what is the process?

Good morning! Do you mean you are hitting heavy on the crown or is it long by the gums? Every crown is custom made so alterations are limited but if it is high and you are biting heavy into it then yes it can be recontoured to fit your bite better. -Dr. Lawlor

My family needs a new dentist, but my son has special needs. Is this office able to handle this?

What can a new patient plan for the primary visit?

Jan Coverda | Aug 28, 2019
Maine Dentistry | Aug 28, 2019

Hi Jan, Thank you for reaching out to us. A patient's first visit starts with a tour of our State of the Art facility along with a brief introduction to all the different treatments we offer (Invisalign, Crowns in a Day, Implants etc.) Then the hygienist will take photographs of your teeth and gums along with probings and recordings of your teeth. We take digital X-rays if needed and then perform an in depth cleaning or removal of any build up. At some point in the visit, Dr. Lawlor will come in to discuss any ways we can improve your overall health and make you proud of your smile. Every new patient leaves with knowledge of their health status and a a few gifts to show our appreciateion (an embroidered canvas tote bag and travel coffee mug). I hope this is helpful and we look forward to welcoming you into our dental family!

What insurance companies do you work with?

Jan Coverda | Aug 28, 2019
Maine Dentistry | Aug 28, 2019

Hi Jan, we are happy to bill out to any insurance company. However, some insurance companies place restrictions on what treatment we can offer. We feel this is not in the patient's best interest so we have only entered into agreements with companies we feel have a sincere interest in the patient's wellbeing. If you have a specific company that you are working with, we would love to discuss your options over the phone or in person at our location.

Are you able to take medicare/maine care for an extraction. I am 58.

Nancy Rovito | Aug 28, 2019
Maine Dentistry | Aug 28, 2019

Hi Nancy, unfortunately Mainecare has many restrictions on what offices they work with and what treatment they allow. We do however accept all insurance companies and would love for you to stop in and see how we can help you!

What is the average price for upper and lower implants?

Tammy Demers | Aug 28, 2018
Maine Dentistry | Aug 28, 2018

Hi Tammy, the price can vary substantially depending on whether you will need a crown, a bridge, or anchors for a denture. It also depends on whether you need bone grafting or any additional surgical procedures. We offer complimentary consultations and we would love to have you stop by for a consult so that we can accurately discuss your options! Just text or call 207-657-3553. See you soon!

Do you except Maine Care?? I have teeth to be pulled?

Tammy Demers | Aug 28, 2018
Maine Dentistry | Aug 28, 2018

Hi Tammy! Thank you for reaching out to us. At this time we are not set up to work with MaineCare due to their recent requirement changes. We do offer several other options to help cover treatment though. Give us a call or stop in and we can discuss more in depth!
