The items are very expensive compared to other Indian stores and also few of them have an expiry date of within 6 months.

It's a small place with basic required items, for emergency shopping it is handy. For a large scale needs or bulk shopping better to go for a bigger place

Bought some over priced freezer burnt food product from Balaji because it looked like it would be yummy and I wanted to find an Indian market in my neighborhood (I go to Somerville for Indian groceries). I'll be trying the others here in Malden but for now, I'm still loyal to my usual store.

This is my favorite Indian store in Malden. It's small, but organized extremely well so I never have a hard time finding what I need. The owners are so kind, and it really makes a difference. Even though it's more out of the way, I always do my Indian grocery shopping here.

Staff of the store not coming into direct contact except at the payment counter
They do keep Pooja items and may even take in requests to find if they don't have it. Of course you might not be able to find all the items you may get back in India, but should be able to find most of the basic items.
