Inn At Whittier

We spent 3 days in Whittier and stayed at the Inn. Our room was small and it smelled like it hadn’t been aired in months. It looked dusty and furniture was very dated and worn. The bathroom looked dirty (grout, corners, etc) but nice toiletries were available. The restaurant has a great view of the harbor and Sound and the food was very good. But the tables were sticky (every time we were there) as if they hadn’t been cleaned properly.

Dinner and service were fantastic! Way better than any restaurant in Anchorage. I highly recommend reserving a coveted window seat before heading out for the glacier tour. We walked off the ferry to our table and made it in time for the 7pm tunnel. The salmon was perfectly blackened with amazing wild rice seasoned with broth and crispy seasonal veggies perfectly done. The shrimp on angel hair pasta was fresh, plump and wonderfully garlicky! So great with fresh tomatoes and zucchini. After a week in Alaska we were starting to wonder if we’d ever find good food. This was a great end to a perfect day on the water!

What a lovely little spot. Located right next to the water with gorgeous views of the mountain, this place offers lodging and food. Even though I didn't stay, I would definitely love to. Stopped there to get some work done and get lunch and I loved it. The place is beautiful, the staff is very nice and friendly and the food was delicious. The only thing that I think could improve would be the music in the restaurant and bar area. Such a beautiful and peaceful place and listening to loud rock kind of ruins that a little bit.

Didn't stay here, but my husband and I tried the restaurant for dinner. The steak nachos were great, but could use a bit more cheese. He had the grilled halibut dinner which was amazing. I had the veggie primavera with salmon. It was excellent, but just a bit too salty. The tropical martini was super good. Service was friendly and efficient.
