I have been with this bank for ten years and had generally had a good experience with them. The last few years have been difficult, however. They are in the dark ages with electronic banking. I have had consistent and diverse problems with their abominable bill pay system. This is the weak point in their banking delivery. First, my credit card payment to another financial system would go through in two days. Then it was a week to nine days all of a sudden out of the blue. I worked with the credit card provider and Bath Savings to iron it out as no one could tell me why it changed. After spending two weeks with them getting this resolved, all of a sudden, it has taken 10 days (to date) and the credit card provider has still not received the payment. I chatted with a bill pay rep yesterday and they told me that their “algorithms” determine whether a payment is sent overnight or mailed. In this case they mailed it. This type of inconsistency is driving me crazy! I asked the rep to have someone with some authority to call me. No one called me. The other problem is that every time they upgrade their system, I cannot get into bill pay. This has happened three times in the past. The bank is NOT friendly to anyone using an apple operating system...remarkable in this day and age. The last two chats I have had, I have told them that I am at wit’s end and seriously considering changing banks. They have become too big to care about long term customers. I have two checking accounts, three savings accounts, overdraft protection, and a safe deposit box. My wife’s payroll check is direct deposited. My pension and social security payments are direct deposited. I also recently learned that I could have deposited any checks with my iPhone. This was never mentioned to me in any communications, nor is it on their website. I have been driving to their bank (26 miles round trip) all this time! I don’t understand why they don’t value a ten year customer, but they won’t have to worry about it shortly because I’ll be gone. Everyone I speak with loves Camden National. They have more branches near me and in state. Please, please, please don’t waste your time with this loser bank which could care less about you..
