The worst hotel experience I have had in my life. The hotel is under extensive renovation. We arrived at 1 am with a digital key for one of the two rooms. No attendant at the front desk and a construction worker had to tell us they should be down soon. The first room they sent us to had no TV and someone said they were either tearing down a wall or putting one back up. Eventually they searched long enough to find us a room with two double beds. There are 6 of us traveling. PS> you will have to be shuttled to another hotel for complimentary breakfast options. Zero service recovery attempted. For the 7 hours we were in our rooms, very little sleep or comfort. I hope the Hilton headquarters take action toward the management team at this location. Anchorage is a must sought after location during the summer months and this certainly was not the way to start off of family vacation.

Our stay was the opposite of what we expected at a Hampton Inn. On the positive side, staff was always kind and professional. On the opposite side, my husband and I just had to laugh as our 5 day stay progressed and more things went wrong. We experienced at least 14 issues that we could list, starting with not being told that the hotel was going through a major remodel. As a result, the lobby was a construction site which meant no hot breakfast. There also were no vending machines or opportunity to purchase drinks/snacks on-site. Work was going on in the rooms across the hall, starting at least by 8 am if not before. The pool was drained and used as a storage area for the construction work. Our room was not prepped properly. It had not been vacuumed as evidenced by the tufts of white dog hair scattered throughout. There was no coffee machine or hairdryer in the room. The AC was leaking when we entered the room creating carpet wet enough that it soaked through my husbands socks when he went to look out the window. The shower dripped constantly onto the metal plate that was the shower drain. The vanity lights in the bathroom didn't work making shaving and make-up application difficult. Then, on the third day, there was no coffee in the lobby. The person at the desk said that they guy who made the coffee wasn't coming in that day. I guess the guy took an extended vacation because there never was coffee in the lobby for the rest of the visit, which made us get pushier about getting a coffee machine in our room that we'd asked for previously and hadn't gotten.

This stay went from bad to worse. The first thing is when we arrived, the lobby was being renovated and we were told no hot breakfast. Fine, we brought food to warm up. We arrive in the room and there are no “do not disturb signs”, no microwave, no paperwork or anything. Thursday morning after searching for another hotel, we extended our stay due to no availability elsewhere. Thursday our room was knocked on no less than 5 times, before 1pm. With two of those times someone walking into the room despite shouts of “occupied”. Even after deadbolting it, someone tried to get PAST the deadbolt. I extended through the app. When I called to make sure I could get the same room (I booked it in the app so I knew I had the room) and didn’t have to leave, I was told I would need to come at 130 to check out and back in. I went to the lobby at 130 and then was told come back at 2. I was able to check in at 130 after telling them I was told 130. It was a long process to try to get me checked out and back in, an issue I’ve not had at any other location. After “the room being marked ready” house keeping knocked on the door an addition 2+ times. Then when notice that the blackout curtains are moving on their own. Turns out our control for the curtains are not even hooked up. So we had to sleep with them partially open. Our last day at the hotel they didn’t have any extra supplies(we didn’t have enough toothpaste). And housekeeping kept knocking on our door. I will note that the front desk was very nice and helpful. THEN the general area manager reached out an apologized for the renovation issues. Not the numerous other issues with the stay. DO NOT RECOMMEND

I would give a 0 if I could. The staff was incredibly rude. We called to book directly through them and they booked us through a 3rd party without telling us. I called to book for a specific room which was why I wanted to book directly, when we arrived they put us in a cheaper room and told us they would refund the difference of the rooms for that first night, they did not. They told us all day they would be switching the room so we had to wait there and it ruined a whole day of our vacation because we couldn't leave before they switched us so we were there when the room we had booked was finally ready. We asked for new sheets and had to ask 5 times over a 2 day period for the room to be turned down with new sheets. At one point they gave us sheets and told us to do it ourselves. Have us two top sheets for the wrong size bed called again and told them again what size bed and they brought the wrong sheets again. We had to go out and grab the old sheets from the dirty floor in the hallway and put those back on the bed to sleep. We were told water bottles at the front desk were free from one person and then throughout the stay were charged anywhere from $1-$3 so the staff was just pocketing money based on what they felt like charging. People just hang out and bang on doors in the hallway at night (which the manager tried to blame on construction when it was the middle of the night and no construction crews were there) we called the front desk about it and they did nothing. When customer service called the manager about giving us a partial refund for the horrible stay and she blamed everything on construction saying that all guests are notified about construction before the stay (we were not) and the construction had nothing to do with the horrible stay. The manager said she will not give a partial refund because there was construction even though it was reiterated that the construction was not the issue. They refused to try to keep the floors dry from people tracking in snow (also blamed on construction) when it was a collection from everyone but the staff just wanted to sit and hang out in the lobby all day. When speaking to some staff we would just get stared at at times instead of getting an answer. If you can stay somewhere else do it and save yourself from being treated horribly. A motel 6 would give better service. Photo is of other peoples hair we found in the bed.

Applebees shares a parking lot. Fridays is across the street. Cattle Company, Golden Corral is close, Sea Galley is close. No real fast food close by.
