Perfect for young families. It's an educational preserve, different than other parts of Moraine State Park. One side has a small shop and a tiny museum. Across the road is the prairie. It's too sunny for me, but there are longer tails through that area. You're more likely to find wild flowers there, especially in the spring. The park features a number of short trails with little elevation change. I take my youngest kids here often. Only the North Country Trail leaves the park. It's marked with blue blazes.

Very cool section attached to Moraine State Park. Nice education area. Check out the mine subsidence project. Large prairie area to explore and hike

I took the kids here today with my Step mom, just like she used to take me when I was a kid. It's beautiful here and the trails are always taken care of. Definitely will be bringing them back!

I lived literally down the street from this area for about 12 years, yet had never walked the loop. I'm a pretty serious hiker, so the terrain was a bit tame for my liking, but this was just a stroll. And a pleasant stroll it was! There are informative signs and placards along the way, and the trail is nicely mowed. You'll hear almost constant traffic noise, but it's not overwhelming. Nice little area!
